The Hanna-Barbera children's cartoon "Yogi Bear" is being made into a live-action CGI animated motion picture (similar to the "Alvin and the Chipmunks" movie). According to "Variety," Dan Aykroyd is in negotiations to take on the voice of Yogi and Justin Timberlake may play Boo-Boo. Anna Faris ("The House Bunny") is in negotiations to play a 'documentary filmmaker."
If you're too young to remember Yogi Bear, he started out as a side-character in "The Huckleberry Hound Show." In 1961, Yogi Bear got his own spin-off show, which was sponsored by Kelloggs. Yogi Bear's voice and mannerisms are said to have been inspired by the character Ed Norton on "The Honeymooners." The "pic-a-nic" loving Yogi Bear and his sidekick "Boo Boo" lived in the fictional Jellystone National Park.
The "Yogi Bear" movie will be directed by "Journey to the Center of the Earth" director Eric Brevig. Brad Copeland is the scriptwriter and the producers are Donald De Line and Karen Rosenfelt. The movie is set to start filming in New Zealand in December 2009.
