We are coming up on a year since the Chris Brown and Rihanna situation took place. To be so young and have to deal with an issue like that in public, you can't help but feel bad for them. They went from having the fairytale young love relationship to being one of the most controversial subject matters this year. From their initial reactions, it seemed that Chris & Rihanna wanted to keep this matter under the rug, but a few months after the incident, Chris broke his silence with Larry King.
Rihanna stayed silent, even after this interview aired. The drama around their fight night even seemed to die down somewhat, although CB did another highly awaited interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez.
It appeared that both R&B superstars were trying to put it behind them and push forward with their musical careers. It was great that they weren't letting their fight stop them from making musical progress, but it appeared that their comebacks were scheduled to happen simultaneously.
First, Chris releases his comeback single "I Can Transform Ya" featuring Lil Wayne & Swizz Beatz. A little while after he dropped his single, he began to promote the video, leaking images from the shoot and artwork.
Soon after, Rihanna's first single "Russian Roulette" hit the 'net.
Staying with the rhythm of things, CB dropped his video for "I Can Transform Ya,"
ironically, Rihanna's rumored 'Rated R' album cover and promo pics leaked around the same time.
Breezy's "Transform" single was all over the radio and television, so it's no surprise that he had a second single on deck. This track, "Crawl" featured Bad Boy Record's Cassie in the video playing CB's love interest. Pics from the video and the track itself hit the web and were everywhere
But RiRi kept going strong too, releasing her tracklist and artwork for the Rated R album, along with the video for her second single "Wait Your Turn."
1. “Mad House”
2. “Wait Your Turn”
3. “Hard” feat. Young Jeezy
4. “Stupid in Love”
5. “Rockstar 101” feat. Slash
6. “Russian Roulette”
7. “Fire Bomb”
8. “Rude Boy”
9. “Photographs” feat. will.i.am
10. “G4L”
11. “Te Amo”
12. “Cold Case Love”
13. “The Last Song”
With both artists putting music out and getting ready to drop albums, it's no surprise that Rihanna finally decided to break her silence and speak on the CB incident.
But Chris was not about to take Rihanna's interview lying down. Not only did he push up his album release date, but is also doing an interview with MTV, after he said he was finished discussing the fight with RiRi.
Chris and Rihanna's ordeal seems to be finally coming to light, but is it because THEY are ready to talk about it? Or is it because the powers that be want to make sure units are sold? It seems odd that they're both taking similar actions with their careers.
Think about it.
