ARE MOGULS JERKING ARTIST OR ARE THEY DISGRUNTLE?

Can somebody please tell me which artist has become wealthier after leaving Jay Z, 50 Cent or Diddy?? Don't be mad at me for my opinion. The fact of the matter is, if you come from underneath the umbrella, you're bound to get wet!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not siding with the moguls, I'm just trying to even the playing field. In all fairness, some people have come from underneath the umbrella for different reasons. Its not always about finance. For some it was religion, the loss of passion in their career or just wanting to be independent without being bitter. For others, hidden agendas, jealousy and envy, but most of all lack of communication.

Ok, you're 100% right, I don't know the particulars of the beefs, percentages, finances...etc. Who am I to make such a generalized statement?? What do I know about their previous friendships?? I may not know everyone's qualms but there's one thing I know for sure and 2 things I know for certain:

1. There are no friendships in business.
2. Nothing last for ever.
3. You are the only master of your own fate (good or bad).

Here's another thing... nobody was complaining when it was all good. Artist (and entourages) went from the street corner to the studios. They went from phone cards to credit cards. From deli sandwiches to private chefs. From being average Joe to being on top of the world. If moguls didn't come get you off the corner you'd still be on the corner (that's a fact).

Moguls have busts their asses just as much as artist and they have things to protect as well. You can't hate them from having their sh*t in order. That's why its up to the artist to have his "i"s dotted and "t"s crossed. So I decided to make a list of 10 must do's for future artist:

1. Know exactly what you want before commiting to anything.
2. If somethings seems fishy it probably is. Walk away if necessary.
3. Wait patiently for the right situation. Have options!
4. You manager should NOT be a childhood friend. Pay for a good one.
5. You should have outside legal council watch after your interest.
6. You should have someone watching over the watchers.
7. Get familiar with the business so you know what to look out for.
8. Have fun but, save save save!!
9. Never air your dirty laundry to the public. Its not a good look!!
10. Don't wait until the pot boils, communicate any disagreements immediately!!

What i find funny about moguls is this they have totally forgotten who the f*ck they were when they started. I don't care who it is. When you have a mogul that has a team of artist now now only help them grow, but can spit bars, tracks whatever and makes the mogul look good, why is it that when it is time for the artists to shine they either got to bow down gracefully and make f*cking pennies because some bull sh*t ego down allowed the mogul to try and own everything. or the artist gotta break out from the mogul and start his own sh*t and then the mogul be talking sh*t about the artist now. You know it started with suge knight, puffy, jay-z. and when i look at it this is what made me be like f*ck hip hop to some degree because what i can't understand is that how the f*ck do these niggers use the people they say are their people. This is a cut throat industry and i'm glad i will listen to hip hop but i will never buy it anymore.

I actually enjoyed this blog, like I do all of Rasheed blogs. This is exactly what I was thinking about the Beanie and JayZ beef. It isn't a beef at all. Beanie was given an opportunity and he didn't us it very well. The same as Amil. As far as diddy and the Lox, the only one that's really doing his thing is Jada. The Game did well, but Young Buck certainly didn't. Its all about being in charge of your own business....

Hey all. Thanks for the read. I don't want to get out of my groove debating or making jokes, being that the next blog is the last blog. I wouldn't want anyone to think I couldn't handle the pressure. All of this back and forth with Beans is some bullsh*t...I just wish one person would come out and be like I am jealous of Jay Z or I envy Diddy or Mr. Simmons....Beans is being more than disloyal, he's acting like Jay is his girlfriend....All a mogul owes you is a shot...Beans got his shot and did nothing with it. You dont even have a platnium album...C'mon son..what else you want him to do hold your sh*t when you pee? Jay makes money when his artist makes money, Mr. Simmons makes money when his employees find him new talent...Why would they sabatoge themselves...you have access to the same lawyers, accountants, and advisers that they do. Give them a call. Its like everybody calls Don King a crook...Well Don King still has all his money, what those fighters did with theirs is on them.

How can an article be off when telling people top watch out for themselves or they might get jerked?? The name of the game is don't trust anyone. And if you do trust everyone, at least know what the situation is and be loyal to it. That's all I'm saying.

Listen dummy, I got that your article was about empowerment, and its greatly appreciated. But when one person says something, it could be a misunderstanding. When two people say it, its a sign. When everybody in the industry is screaming it, there's a problem. I'm not saying that everyone was on their Ps and Qs, but everyone can't be that stupid either. That's why I said I'm not siding with either. If you're going to be writing blogs and then get your feelings hurt when people respond, you're in the wrong business. I'm siding with neither the artists nor the mogul, but just because someone gives you something doesn't mean they can screw you over. That's like telling a woman she has to have sex with a man if he buys her nice things. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Just my two cents. And by the way, The Game is doing just fine without 50 Cent, Dr. Dre and Snoop are doing just fine without Suge Knight; as are the rest of the Death Row members. There are some people who have declined after the break ups, but in all reality, were they ever worth it in the first place? You may fly on G4s, but just because you look smart don't make you smart. This article was way off the mark.

- Actually NO artist is doing any better or just as well after they left Diddy, 50 or Jay Z (please make a note that I mentioned these particular moguls, not Suge Knight who is a glorified thug). Yes you're entitled to an opinion and comments. G4's are great, you should try em one day!

- NO Artist? Diddy - D Block, doing swell. Nas, nuff said. 50 Cent - If The Game ain't going platinum every time and doing crazy shows, I must be listening to the wrong artist called The Game. I never mentioned Jay-Z cause, like I said, maybe some just weren't worth it to begin with. Dipset has always sucked to me, but they are doing alright. None of Jay's other artists have left him, so he's not even in the discussion anyway. You're just spewing out your neck. Yeah, Beanie did get his shot and he's sold over 1 million in his career. What he did with his money, I don't know, but I wasn't really speaking about him. Ask Jadakiss and the entire group The Band how long it took them to get their money from Diddy, if they've even gotten it. It took D-Block years and threats of physical violence to get that man to honor his LEGAL contract, so sit down son, your post is a big contradiction. Besides, I don't need to get anybody a sandwich to ride a G4, I can make a phone call and be on one in the next 2 hours, family money. And that's real talk.

I think that Diddy finds the people who are so hungry that they will do anything for a deal. So being the business man Diddy is, he is going to give you the deal where he sees fit which means he is going to offer you the least ammount. It's a shame that the artists wise up after the contract is signed. Jay-Z th is on a whole other level. He trying to take over the universe. so if you don't have that "it" factor to be a star to push him up to the moon, he is going to leave you in the hole where you are. Look at Beans and State Property. He surrounds himself with real hustlers and I'm not talking about nickle and dimers. Like he said he give you a chance and if you don't make it, thats on you. He could do more that what he is doing to promote his artists though. 50 problem is that he trying to save his hood. GUNIT the label is not as strong like they use to be. The only artist that 50 has that is maketable is Lloyd Banks. If anything, 50 need to push him more cause Banks is one of the most talented lyricist on the seen today and he is really not doing anything with it but releasing mixtapes here and there.

This isn't about disgruntled employees, this is about grown up's not handling their business....Nobody put a gun to their head and made them sign those contracts....You have to know your own worth....and when you do get a little cash, maybe its best to not spend like the boss...Everybody wanna ride G4 with Southwest money....stop living above your means...what we're actually talking about is a lack of common sense..when you are a star you can get away with sh*t(ie Kanye)..just because you have talent, that doesn't make you a star. Read more, learn more...stop trying to keep up with Jones' and the Comb's..

Interesting! ~Not Disgruntle.

I have much respect for the points mentioned. First fact being if you come from under an umbrella of wealth you`re bound to get wet. Sometimes branching out is best; and a good personal reason of all the onces mentioned would be wanting to be independent without being bitter. "I do believe before moving forward with any decision you have to brainstorm set up a Pro`s & Con`s table if you will." That being said.. I`m meaning thumbs up to the top 10 must do list. Well thought out!! All is fine and good aslong as you remain humble enough to avoid "burning bridges" behind you. {ex}By professing in advance who you`d prefer be your employers. But maybe that`s not what you were impling? After all these are thoughts and everyones entitled to their thoughts and opinion..
