After days of tacitly condoning Geraldine Ferraro's controversial comments, Hillary Clinton becomes the focus of MSNBC's Keith Olbermann's Special Comment

  • I think Ferraro has a point.......
  • French, huh? I agree it was not necessary. Ferraro and Wrights comments were more hurtful than helpful to the candidates. I agree that the party is being split and that McCain seems to be the only one benefiting lately.

I just wish we would get back to focusing on the issues.
  • @Wunderwoman -

Your tenacity and your allegiance to your candidate are admirable.

I think we can both agree that this foolish with Geraldine Ferraro helps neither candidate. In fact, it can only hurt the Democratic Party and both of our candidates, and in the long run make tings better for McCain.

    N'est pas?

The fact of the matter is that Olbermann presents information then he states his opinions. The information is fact, his opinion is his opinion. Just because he has a degree in communications doesn't mean he is qualified to be a political analyst on either side of the wing. His background has been sports and he is just another controversial talk host with no politcal science degree or background. I apologize that I negated to state that this was my opinion, not "everyones." And in MY opinion he should be a blogger and not a host.
  • That is your opinion, I respect that. Truth can be taken in many contexts. In my opinion, "truth" as it comes from Olbermann is subjective and the only fact I see in this video is the quote from Ferraro. FERRARO not Hilary. If he is to say what "should" be advised then yes a political science background is preferred.
You are right in that an education is not necessary to speak the truth. But what is truth? And you are wrong about the education of the "founding fathers". Might want to research that.
  • Olbermann is the TRUTH!

@WunderWoman.. Olbermann is the Truth lol. You don't need an education in Political Science to speak the truth. Keep in mind, our founding fathers were basically elementary school dropouts, forget college and even high school. But, this speaks to a different issue - education as a barrier! Just because someone isn't formally educated, as to what society deems an education should be in a specific area, doesn't mean they aren't qualified. Olbermann is more than qualified for the job because he does something even people with a PoliSci degree can't and won't do - SPEAK THE TRUTH! We need more of that and less of these Yale and Harvard grads, aka ivy league idiots, who get by on daddy's dollar like our current president mis-elect Bush and can't get the job done! I'd rather Olbermann than any clown with a piece of paper that's supposed to dictate a person's expertise. It's about showing and proving and Olbermann is hardcore with it! He's the TRUTH!

And the "fact" is that neither Hilary or Barack is responsible for what someone else says without their endorsement.

@Poncho This is not a professional's site for information. It is for commenting. And it is good to hear other perspectives. If you don't like to hear other's opinions, don't read them or blog. "Shoot" or "Knife"?

<<He is the most biased man, more so than Rush...>>

Yes, he can be over the top, that's his schtick. His commentary is based on facts, unlike Limbaugh and O'Reilly. Perhaps you should do a little more (some?) research on Olbermann yourself. May I suggest Google?

<<I shouldn't even be commenting, do your research on Keith..>>

Why would anyone comment on a topic if they weren't prepared with facts, or with sensible, even witty, comments to contribute. That would be like showing up at the OK Corral with a machete! Somebody is guaranteed to shoot.

<<C'mon everyone knows Keith Olbermann is an idiot. Everyone who watches his show and has even heard of him prior to this segment knows that he is an ex espn analyst that was canned and has no background in politics.>>

There you go again with the sweeping generalizations. Who is "everyone"? Is that everyone that YOU know or everyone that agrees with YOU?

Because he was fired from ESPN and has no 'news' background, according to you, does that he mean that he lied or that he didn't make salient points? While Olbermann made his name in sports reporting he isn't just another ex-jock doing sports on the late news. In fact, Olbermann earned a degree in communications arts from Cornell University. I like his show. He regularly tears new jerk for Republican right-wing fascists and Democratic clubhouse big shots.

  • POWERFUL!
  • Most Lefties are week-kneed, that's why the slimey rightwingers keep wiping the floor with our asses. Did you see Hilary and Barack on the Senate floor today. He had his hand on her shoulder, and the huddled to discuss legislation. They are both corporatist anyway. The difference between them and the Republican is that, at least they will share some of the largesse. The rightwingers want to give it "all" to the corporations. I like Keith, but he's full of shizzle on this one.
  • Hillary got Ethered. Plain and simple.
  • I'm glad someone said it!!!
