Jay-Z recently appeared in a photo shoot for Fendi’s new ad campaign. As some Hip-Hop fans will note, the rapper inconspicuously name dropped the italian fashion brand on Beyonce’s “Upgrade U” in the lines: “I’m talking Spy Bags and fly pads, and rooms at the Bloomberg/ rumors you on the verge of a new merge…”
The song was a huge hit, and the mention must have surely given the already sought-after—and insanely expensive (they start at two Gs)—Fendi “Spy Bags” the “Jiggaman Bump,” where the Brooklyn MC cosigns a product and it becomes immensely popular. On that account, It seems fitting that the leather goods producer would want to collaborate with him in a meaningful way.
Fendi is a subsidiary of the LVMH group of companies, which also holds brands such as Moet, Marc Jacobs, Hennessy and Louis Vuitton. LVMH currently trades on the European stock exchange under the ticker symbol: MC.
