Since the start of the presidential race, we've been asked to see the world through Obama's eyes, outside of America's race construct. When the brother stood in victory in South Carolina, a victory claimed for the black vote, and said he doesn't see race. It ruffled my feathers. Then his absence from the State of the Black union clearly seemed like a "miss opportunity" to me. But I keep trying to meet Obama where he is and where he's headed — to the White House as President of America.
