Today, I watched the Inauguration concert held at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. Although the event was star studded, I looked past the cause celebre’, my main focus was on the 1st Family, the Obamas. I then started thinking about the households Michelle and Barack grew up in where basic values and norms are learned. In their time of development the internet was not what it is today. Meaning, there was no WorldStarHipHop.com or YouTube videos floating around in cyberspace demeaning us as a people. If fact, the strength and stability of the black family was of paramount concern.
