You know I’ve kept my MySpace intact (even through all the "why aren’t you on Facebook? It's SO much better" antics from my friends) because it makes for great web pr. But tonight marks the end of just public pr folks; tonight brings my heart to the table.  All this from an episode of Bachelor, yes I unfortunately said "The Bachelor". I can’t say I’ve ever even watched it, although my brief term of endearment with that gorgeous bachelor reject sparked my interest; it's this whole underworld of perfect people looking for perfect, healthy relationships… it kinda made me wonder…  well, mostly where the hell are they finding these perfect people? But after that… could this really be real?

Now without rehashing the past, I’ve had my fair share of "reality" TV enough to know it’s never really reality. But from the small inside insight I was able to get from my bachelor hunk, it seemed as though these people were actually just looking for love instead of a job, easy publicity or something better to do than drink themselves into oblivion at the local pub (that one's a shout out for the contestants on Rock of Love).

So tonight I tuned in for the finale--mostly because I saw in my fav rag mag US Weekly that this entire thing is FAKE, imagine that, fake reality? Aren’t we all living that in one way or another anyway? But back to the point.

I watched already knowing the ending thanks to "US". Thinking producers, directors, station execs and network owners could not possibly take this (semi-real stab at reality) to the point where you use a poor girl up and spit her out. I mean this is freakin’ ABC not MTV (that’s a shout out for yours truly who was obviously always the centerfold of someone’s reality game).  Molly, Mary, Mellissa, Megan whatever the hell her name is, I feel so bad for her.  Her poor heart was used for television (Us Weekly claimed it was on purpose to get a higher rating).

I guess I found it more disturbing than what I experienced personally, because my reality ratings were about my job, not my heart. This was her heart on the line. I guess we’ll never really know the truth but from what I know from leaks, insiders, and US weekly predictions, it seemed that some angry person wanted the truth to be known. Which is something all ex-reality people usually feel.

The only side of the story the audience ever gets is the ones of those that are still telling it on TV every night. But gosh, I just cried inside for her. I felt like she was such a beautiful honest woman and I don’t NOT like the other girl he ends up with but I do feel like their thirty-minute reunion during the rose gathering after-party was a bunch of bulls***! I saw right through that acting job and edit. Anyway, what the f*** have we come to when ratings mean more to us than honest emotion? Fire me, lie about me, rumor about me, write/say all the nonsense you can but don’t play with my heart. Love is all we have at the end of the day. We’re all so damn focused on hating on each other that we forget. We forget what’s important. We forget how we should treat people and not because we have to, but because we should. Because it’s the right way to be in life.  It's what we should hope for everyday.

Through all of the s***, we should always find a way to love our environment. It’s all we have people! If I ever did a dating/love show (which I believe isn’t impossible to find love on), I would never take advantage of people's love in order to make those ratings.

After the show, I had to go for a run...I needed to run off my anger for them making her the pawn of their ratings. I met this 60 year-old man walking his 14 year-old dog that had a broken leg. It was just a slow romantic walk with his dog and of course I stopped, talked "dog" for a bit and spoke briefly about our dog's weight gain. I said, “you know the only things not worried about weight in our society are animals... they are probably the only things that are fat and happy... honestly happy.”  He said, “yeah I know, look at that one girl everybody has been saying is fat (Jessica Simpson), I think she looks beautiful”.  THAT’S the generation gap! This hate, self-hate, etc. It's only developed recently so we can stop it for future generations if we try hard enough. Instead of escaping to weed or prescription pills (which I understand are great ways to escape pain nowadays), try spreading love.

My mom even said, when she was my age all people wanted to do was find things they loved...in people, in work and in life. It's so different now.  She said this extreme hate the World Wide Web has helped to generate wasn’t what it used to be about.

SO, I love you all! Even you damn haters that keep sending me “you slut, you changed, your nakedness and ‘slutness’ were the cause of Danity Kane’s end, poor everyone else.”  Come on!

Sidebar: Do you really think I’m gonna post that nonsense? We all know huge business ventures don’t end on account of slutty behavior! BUT hey, I even love you all too!

Alright, I’m done! I hope this doesn’t end up resembling that infamous mission statement tom cruise so openly suffered from but hey, even that had a happy ending. So there it is. I’m gonna go lay in bed with my amazing, non-socialized, happy, loving dog that just wants her tummy rubbed. Lack of knowledge paired with unconditional love. It’s the greatest!

  • I didn't like your musik (matter of personal taste), but you seem to have a head on your sholder. Please use it more often. Nice blog.
It seems that Hollywood and the music business are portraying the wromg images of some individuals.
Keep up the good work, but stay away from too much emotions (can mess up your thought process)

    Kind regards,

    Rachid
  • Verygood article. Keep up the good work girl.Don't let know body tear you down. DK is over but your not.....1love joe t.
  • Alright look I've watched making the band since day one and I still can't find another reason for DK breaking up other than greed.

I'm an Independent artist my self so I know what its like to be waiting for your big break. I can only pray to get half the chance these artist from making the band have gotten. I was'nt their with Dk when they were going threw their problems off camera so I cant blame only one person for their down fall. But one thing I do know is that somewhere along the line "SOMEONE lost site of who they really are and started living the life of a character.

I've had my own group for about 5 years now and I've had to let go of people who I've grown up with since elementary school atleast 10 times now and all because of the same reasons that always seperate groups, greed, jelousy and envy. I'm not saying Aubrey single handedly broke up DK but when you start doing shows photo shoots and other things that have nothing to do with the best intrest of the group its only a matter of time until people get fed up and move on to pursuing their own careers.

  • I'm reading a lot of these comments, and I am noticing that a lot of people are giving her praise for all of the things that we don't see when we look at Aubrey on tv or read about in the magazines!! Russell Simmons posted her e-mail and it lists a lot of charitable accomplishments, but was that the reason why anyone wants to be famous??

If charity is your passion, then a tv reality show to become a singer won't get you there any faster. In fact how would portryaing a bad girl image help out your cause in any way?? Now I don't know her personally, so to call her a bad person or a slut would not be fair to her, but at the same time no one can get upset for being called such things when that is the image you are giving people!! When i turned on Making the Band 4 I saw a girl who wanted to be loved by the people for star that she was, someone who isn't afraid to speak her mind(like she would say so many times on the show), someone who did a playboy shoot because the money was right and we all knew that she would!! Are we wrong for not seeing Mother Teresa in her actions??
  • Aubrey just stay focused on your career, prince charming will find you in due time. Life is a trip full of ups and downs.. my quote is " Take a deep breath and just let it go"
  • A wise person can play the role of a fool, but a fool can never play the role of a wise person. I'm a strong believer that Character matters more than reputation, and Aubrey is an amazing person. Those who seek wisdom come to understand that even though the world may reward us for superficial reasons, what really matters is who we are inside and who we are becoming. In life, we are sometimes taken into troubled water not to drown, but to be cleansed. So i truly believe that Aubrey is one of the sweetest and smartest young lady ive ever met, the purpose of life is to have a life of purpose, and she has one.. NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER.. SIGNING OFF..
    • Ofcourse in life you can never judge a book by its cover, however, presentation is everything and when you are a celebrity, all the "people" get to see are the outside until you make whats on the inside worth paying attention to. Your image is what you make it. What you leave on black and white will be remembered hundreds of years now word for word. And when you arent around to defend them, you have left your mark on society up to those who interpret it in their own way. Until people who meet Aubrey and have the chance to find out whats behind the image she has portrayed, all we can do is judge by what presented to us. And ummmm....more than likely, thats not going to happen. Fortunately for Aubrey, she seems as though the dis-approving opinions of her dont phase her, and in reality, shes not going to please EVERYONE.

Please dont take the fact that i dont think shes a talented artist as me thinking she is a bad person. Point blank, musically, im just not feelin her. My opinion only. Which doesnt really matter, right?
    • I don't think anyone is judging her character. And when you're a public figure what people think, matters. ESPECIALLY if you're in the business of selling products. IE CDs and CLOTHES, hell even YOURSELF. I don't think you want a bad reputation. No one wants a bad reputation.

So you say, you're just living your life. Well that's fine. But when everyone is watching you have to mindful of what you do. And if you say you didn't ask to be in the public eye, you're wrong. You want to be an entertainer, God has afforded you an opportunity to do it... make good use of it. I personally think it's possible for Aubrey's good qualities, intentions, and deeds to outshine the fact she's a party girl. When you have young girls looking up to you, it's important that they see more of the good.

Aubrey, make that happen! And whoever your publicist is, FIRE them! J/K ... but we need to see this cultured, talented, intelligent and progressive chick! This is just my opinion.. I am/was a supporter of Danity Kane and I think you have a good talent, if you made a record, I would probably buy it.

But from reading thousands of posts, from your audience, the people that would buy your records and your clothes, you gotta turn it around.

I think blogging on Global Grind can help too. It's a positive, progressive and still entertaining environment. Definitely do you more good than bad.

    • Perfectly said. I agree, Global Grind is the best place for her to turn her image around and gain respect from all types of fans, b/c its where SHE HERSELF can speak out and portray the kind of person and image she really is. Its one thing to touch fans who are into that kind of image, but to gain respect and admiration from people who look for something deeper, thats when you know you are really doing your thing. My top faves... Mary J Blige, who went through really rough times with her image and reputation but always had the undeniable talent that kept her going (lol at the 6 degrees of diddy with that one...) Pink, who is by far the realist and one of the most talented artists today, and Mariah Carey, who's work that focused on her sexual-ness (is that a word) and not her true talent hurt her more than did her good. I love(d) Danity Kane, i think that Dollhouse was one of THE BEST cds ive heard from start to finish in a long time, and maybe im subconsciensly a bit sour on Aubrey b/c shes a missing link into a group i adored. And i totally agree she should fire her publicist! lol.
    • Well said MY friend !!!
  • i think that one of the reasons to have a global grind is for artists to make clear what the media distorts i like the way this is turning out sweetness and honesty and truth are good additions to sarcastic hurtful and negative sites i guess they are fun but i would rather be inspired by my cultural heros than knock them down infact when we find their truth it gives them the lane to use it( their truth) for what god intended
    • BUT.. after reading this blog yesterday and viewing questionable pics today, it makes you question the validity of what the media distorts, and the truth that the artist speaks.

After reading this, I respect her hustle, but I wonder if the vulgar behavior is intentional. And if it is, to get attention.. is she concerned that when it's really time to "do her thing" that people won't respect her?

      Anybody answer.

    • YOU have earned the title of "Cultural Hero"...not every artist has therefor dont deserve the same recognition. Do they deserve to have their privacy forsaken and have the media stalk them and print rumors and slander about them? hell no. But, we as people have a right to rate what they create in their field, its just a matter of doing so in a tactful, non vindictive way. And rating their work, doesnt mean rating their being...who they are past the image.
    • Exactly. You are known for the fruit you bear. The questionable pics coupled with the fact that GG promoted them puts all parties into question. The truth always comes out.
  • Good morning. Aubrey, I would like to say that I appreciate your honesty and good job standing up to P.Diddy. I have one last comment - 112?? Faith Evans?? Carl Thomas?? Craig Mack?? Dream??? Total?? Danity Kane??? .....see the pattern!!
    • LOL! Fonda, girl what you tryin' to say! :P
    • Fonda you r right on that one... and Aubrey keep doin your thing, you are a strong woman, dont change your ways.
  • WOW. Aubrey has a way with words. I went and read the rest of her blogs on her myspace. Very inspiring and refreshing.
  • Forget the haters. You're a STAR Aubrey. You always were from day one! Keep doing you.
