Hello World.

I published a “Letter To My Father” recently and the tremendous response deserves my sincere thanks. I’m overwhelmed by how many people took the time to read my letter and listen to my record.  I received thousands of calls, texts, comments and e-mails.  Thank you for your compassion, support, and understanding.

To those that share my experience, I thank you for your courage.  Many of you shared with me your life-experiences without your fathers.   I say to you “This is only a season,” one aspect of life.  Take the lessons and let them make you stronger and wiser.  Commit to never make the same mistake.

I realized I was taking a great personal risk to share my feelings.  I thought that revealing this part of my life was necessary.   It was an important part of a process to help me understand who I am.  I released years of disappointment and pain. My healing has begun.

I haven’t heard from my Dad since I published my letter. I know that eventually our paths will cross in this journey called LIFE.  As it has often been said, “Time heals all wounds.” Now it’s time to move on with my journey. A journey where my faith tells me that my father and I will be stronger.  Dad, I love you.

Again, I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone that has shared in this life changing experience with me.

Thank You Again...

  • I feel you my n*gga, I was raised by my dad and never really knew my mother. dude has no excuse for being absintee in ur life specially since he was on that lame ass MTV show with Lil B Sure, wow go figure f*ck dude, u got DIDDY as Yo DADDY
  • God bless you and bring your father into your life. It's never too late. My children's father was recently reunited with his biologicial father about a month ago. He had mixed feelings at first but he said he is glad that it happened. He is grown now and you can't change the past, all you can do is move on with the future...
  • nephew, i wish you well and good luck on your life's journey. when you become a man, you understand that you cant control how people act to you or things that will happen to you, just how you are going to react the person or situation.

the ability to have closure to life's problems comes from your ability to forgive and move on. forgiveness isn't for them but for you because it allows you to not use that energy to hate them or feel sorry for your self, but to use that energy for other good healthy activities. your dad will come around because his legacy in life is you, the most important thing in the world. use you opportunities to grow as a man, become educated and live life.
    • Al B Sure! SUFFERS FROM MULTIPLE PERSONALITY DISORDER. HE CANNOT BE HELPED!
  • Quincy the last time I was on global grind. I blast you for writing this thoughtful letter to your dad. Then you put it out on blast for the world too see. I still stand behind that. I know your letter is a cry out for dad to communicate with you more. At least I thought this letter would bring your dad to open up a communication with you. Not owing us an explanation but his beloved son is owed one. Its clearly you are a man now. You want that relationship to bring a closure with dad. What i do'nt get is he takes up time with his other son. Not you I just ask my self that. nevertheless; this letter should have brought him knocking at your door at least a phone call. I know Diddy has been there thru thick and thin all your life. Its nothing like having that biological connection in your life. espeacailly being a spittin image of him and sharing the same birthday. Keep you head up and continue too be a man go ahead with your life and live. One day you might get that phone call.
    • I AM SURE THE BOY HAS TRIED KNOCKING AT THE DOOR AND CALLING THE ASSHOLE BUT GETS NO RESPONSE SO HE OUTED HIM PUBLICLY. LOOKS LIKE Q IS THE DAD HERE AND ABS IS THE SON. ABS DESERVES WHATEVER GOOD OR BAD KARMA COME HIS WAY BUT I KNOW IT WILL BE BAD BAD BAD.
    • ALSO I JUST HEARD FROM A FRIEND TODAY ABS GOT FIRED FROM HIS DAY JOB. KARMA BEEN SAYIN THIS FOR YEARS!
  • I agree with you
  • Baby boy I know how you feel, I was raised by my step dad also. I appreciate him being a man and stepping up to the plate to take care of another mans responsiblity. But I always wished I had a relationship w/ my biological father its just not the same. You've grown to be a smart young man w/o your father so its his lose at the end of the day.
  • While it pisses me off that Al B obviously was not in Quincy's life, I have to say there are two sides to every story. I am sure it had to be hard to compete with the likes of Sean Combs (money, power and fame). I won't just roll Al b under the bus just yet. Hopefully, he will respond to his son and I hope he does not feel that he has to do it on the internet.
  • You've already been blessed. The ability for you to articulate your feelings the way you did is your blessing because it takes a mentality and soul that you've been given. You phrased your sentences in a way that you stated your struggle without putting anyone down. You didn't do what many other's in your situation would probably justifiably do... send out bitterness at your situation to your father. There is truly no reason to. Everything is going as it should. The universe is spinning in the proper direction, which means that your life was meant to be exactly the way it is. The love you put out into the universe is already coming back to you and it will continue to young man. I'm sure we'll all benefit from having you on this earth.
    • "giveusfree" you never disappoint with your responses. Well said, as usual :-)
  • little al i know your dad ,mom, and stepdad and i must first say your a great young man and thank the lord for he is watching over you everyday and your the better man now and will get better keep you head up and love your family were ever they are and mom loves you very much always have and will, and your dad will show you some day as well keep doing your thing. you can reach out to me anytime if you need. love Robert... roberthennix@yahoo.com
  • All I can say is.... RESPECT!
  • omg wow. i lost my dad when i was 12 and it was really hard to get over it i know how it must feel not being able to see your dad. its hard but you will make it.being without a dad is really. but what i have to say is forgive him and move on with your life

  • I wish you and your Dad the best my dude...
  • That's really some sh*t no one has to go through. I had my dad around and that HURT me, sometimes it's best not to have them in your life. You're strong, and you're lucky that you do have a great dad in your life (Puff). You can't make every man be a dad. You can't make every dad be a father, just like you can't make every father be a dad. Or a MAN for that matter. You feel me?

Its garbage how you wrote this letter a week ago, I remember when you just disappeared one night, just to write it and this guy STILL hasn't had the damn dignity to even try to contact you. Is Lil B Sure treated this way? You're my homie and you're a good guy, you don't deserve it man. Really.

    Stay strong, continue your journey.
  • Quincy,

You have captured the hearts and minds of the world by sharing your life experience. I wish you and your father a better relationship. Thanks for having the courage to share YOUR Life story.
