I have been spending "special time" with Russell for about 4 months and in that time I have learned some subtle things about some in the black community that have surprised me. I must say that while it has been a bit of a challenge for me, it has also been a wonderful learning experience. I realize that in this day of Obama and change that there is still a tremendous amount of poverty, suffering and pain in the black community, and for that I am deeply sorry. But, I have to say the angry responses to those realities are sometimes misdirected....Just for the record, I am nobody’s white b*tch, gold digger or fame chaser. Nor am I any of the other mean things I have been called lately. I don't need anything from anybody, I come from a good family and I'm a young independent "successful" model making my way in NYC. Finally, I just wanna say that Russell has been a great "special" friend and I'm sure as sh*t not giving him up cause some in America object to our friendship. I wanna close by saying, what Russell always says, Namaste. (That means the goddess in me recognizes the goddess in you)....Or, b*tch get your own man.

1st of i would like to say that you are in fact a beautiful woman. i will admit that. 2nd if you find someone who you have a real connection (no matter the skin color) then i am the type of person that says more power to you. now for the bad news. as a person who is indeed black, has been in poverty and i did vote for obama (not because he was black, it was because i believe that change is needed in this day and age). i would have to say that i am deeply offended. also from what you put on your blog russel simmons must be the first black man you ever dated. just because you are dating him does not give you the right to speak as if you were or are a part of the black community. it is understandable that there are people out there that dont approve of the "relationship" with your significant other. ok get mad. but dont put the ENTIRE black community into your problems. lets be honest. if he wasnt russel and was just a rufus, you wouldnt even give him the time of day.

or Barack Obamas presidency have to

do with the way people look at her.

for her to reference that so

to referencing herself to an actual

goddess to calling anyone who opposes

"b*tch" how patronizing of her

honestly I agree with everyone having

a voice and saying what they feel but

this truly another example of how

ignorant one can truly be.

the only advice i have for her

is to go sit down and read a book

so that she can TRULY expand her

mind so that she can wake up...

I havent lived in America for more than ten years and It's sad to see the ignorant opinions, from Both sides of the fence, have gotten worse. Tendency rising.But i digress. Would i call you racist? I think everyone on here needs to get a life. Julie and Russell should be able to date eachother or be friends, or whatever, without having to deal with all of these moronic, misplaced OPINIONS of their relationship. I am SO tired of all this "don't feel sorry for the black community" stupid bullsh*t. That is NOT what she meant, and maybe if you guys could get off this "we're so oppressed, whitey keepin us down" bullsh*t ride that you've been on for so long, you could understand that. There are plenty of successful black people in the world today, like Russell, and Obama, for instance, so there are no excuses. If you live in poverty in this day and age in America, it is no one's fault but your own. And, excuse me, but how do you know that Julie is a "priveledged white girl?" Because she's white?
