I have learned some subtle things about some in the black community that have surprised me. I must say that while it has been a bit of a challenge for me, it has also been a wonderful learning experience. I realize that in this day of Obama and change that there is still a tremendous amount of poverty, suffering and pain in the black community, and for that I am deeply sorry.???????????????????????????????

Wow, the bulk of these responses are hard to believe. This is Uncle Russ's own site, and so many visitors posting here are being unbelievably disrespectful to HIM, and not even giving his gal Julie any credit for knowing what she's talking about. If she says she's been getting crap -- who is to say she's not? Her only "mistake" is in mentioning "the black community" which therefore makes it seem like a stab at everyone -- but if you really read it, it's not. Her opinion as to why she's getting crap is just her opinion, and she probably has good reasons to express what she did. She's making a public statement that she's not what people are trying to make her out to be; that she's strong and can stand on her own two feet. Hurrah! Why give her a hard time for that?
