KILLING ANIMALS IS F**ING WRONG...IT'S THAT SIMPLE

I love to twitter. If you follow me you know this already. I love my fans who keep up with my frequent tweets and we all have a lot of laughs over at that site. I don't use it for promoting my beliefs or getting all serious about issues ..that's what I'm gonna use Global Grind for.

Here I can be a bit more serious and say that there are many causes that are close to my heart. It may seem shocking (it certainly shocks the hell out of me) but I have offered myself as a spokesperson for a few causes that I care about and actually have been turned away! As if the fact that I'm a sex symbol in some way makes my involvement less vital than another celebrity.

However, the narrow-mindedness of a few charities will never stop me from being a crusader. As you know I'm super excited to be at Pride because you know how I feel about Prop 8. You also know how much I love my dog..and all animals. The thought of anyone hurting a defenseless animal makes me want to cry.

That's why I've come to Global Grind today to show you the video below and beg you to make conscious, compassionate choices when you are out shopping. If you love the look of fur just fake it..its less expensive and you can wear your new outfit without guilt. I had no idea of the way animals are raised or killed for their skin until I saw videos like this one.

I don't know who those people are that have it in their hearts to skin an animal while it is still alive but I hope that by promoting fur alternatives I'm doing my part to stop that needless suffering. You will never see me wearing a fur and if you do, rest assured its FAKE. If you love animals you  cannot justify wearing them. Its that simple. Remember, hot girls fake it...for the animals. I should know, cause I'm hot. Lol.

Pledge to go fur-free at PETA.org.

  • hey tila i watched this video and almost cried its good 2 c that u r against this ppl r so cruel & have no remorse
  • Thank you Tila for helping fight animal cruelty.
There are a lot of ignorant people who have left insensitive comments, but they are just so insecure about themselves they feel they are right and no one can stop them spreading their crap.
Animals have feelings, they deserve rights, nothing deserves the pain that the fur industry causes.
Im not a vegan, but i do not wear fur or any animal products- and i also make sure my makeup and painting brushes are artificial too !
it's takes a few people to make a difference and see the light!
    you go girl- thanks you
    xo
  • Who in any type of mind could do something like this!!...its so horrible!.
  • this sh*t is too fukked up we can fight for some type of law or something against animal cruelty? This is too wrong n fukked up man i wasnt able to watch this after like the first 10 seconds when they were killin the poor animal. this is wrong n we need 2 fight for them
  • i am proud to see that we the people are geting involve and together we really need to boycott mink and their is no excuse for ignorance anymore I swear! i will never buy mink and i hope the music indusry will help educate abnd spread the word and stop wearing mink on their video because quiet honestly that were we learn fashion from tv
  • You have achieved a level most only dream of - use it for good Tila.
  • OMFG. Those people need to go and be beaten and skinned alive many many times over. This is disgusting i dont care how annoying or pesty they might be, its there way of surviving, were not beaten and skinned for trying to stay alive. Omg i feel SOOO bad im sick to my stomach now. Please tell me that these people have been or will be severly punished for what they have done and or are still doing.
  • I could not watch that entire video. I only watched about 30 seconds of it, that was all I could stand. I've never really been a fur girl anyway.. but this was just completely terrible. I don't even know what to say. :-(
  • OMG, that video made me cry! Those poor animals, those people should have done to them what they are doing to those poor creatures, I have 3 cats and 3 bunnies, and it bothers me when the cats kill little animals of the outdoors but at least they make sure the animal is dead befor eating it and they are useing the animal for food and not just skinning it and essentually thowing away the rest those poor animals in the video, if ANYONE I knew ever wears fur, Im showing them that video, and I agree with the guy who said the most important thing on here is your opinion, because lots of people look up to you, and want to be like you, and if they read that you dont think real fur cloths or whatever are cool mabey their would be less people buying fur and supporting this kind of abuse and anyone with a heart would be chilled by this video and I do agree its strange to hear charities are turning you away, you can be a big influcence on other people, keep doing what you do best and people will listen!
  • I'm all for killing animals. That's just natural. But I am against greed, cruelty, and waste. The fur industry is sick. The Native Indians used to harvest animals wisely before the Europeans came and raped the land.
  • The most important part of what you have said is your opinion. An uneducated, sensationalistic and most importantly inaccurate opinion but that does not matter now does it. And why is that, because your a " celebrity" so the facts will fall to the wayside and you will get more media attention and it's clear that's all that matters to you. Welll tell you what matters to me and to many people who do not believe for a moment that cruelty to animals is right. Now having said that with my beautiful dog that lays beside me now I will openly state that I not only where fur, but I will continue to wear till the day I die. You see I unlike most ignorant consumers out there, I realize that death is a part of life. That does not mean that clubbing a seal is okay. It is also not mean that skinning an animal alive is okay. Neither is electrocution nor any form of cruelty to any form of life.

So yes I wear fur but I don't wear seal, fox, raccoon or dog! When was the last time you walk into Bergdorf Goodman or Neiman Marcusand found a dog coat? Oh that's right you probably don't have any understanding of fine fur. Let me help you, the video which you watched is barbaric in those fur's will most likely never reach this country. Those furs will go to keep the poor people of that country warm and alive. No I don't agree with it but I also wouldn't poke a hole in the neck of a cow and drink its blood. But in some parts of Africa without this they would not survive. No one can say to what length they would go to to survive. And fur's that I wear are from farms and their entire body are used in some way or another. I.e. meaning- Lamb( we all eat it all over the world! So why would you waste its fur, that would be disrespect its life by not consuming all of it) Cow (look at the videos of how these animals are treated in this country, I would have more respect for you if you went after the slaughter houses, so that we can respect these animals enough to humanely put them down, why don't you get on that, its more important because we consume it in such a vast quantities) Mink ( which is farmed, and if the animal is mistreated prior to its death the far cannot be used in fine furs.) Rabbit (one of my favorite meets to eat, they are farmed and they are put to sleep with gas. Because again if mistreated prior to death the fur cannot be used in fine furs). I'm sick and tired of hearing people cry about the mistreatment of animals when they stand on American soil and could make a difference in slaughterhouses. Don't cry about animals if you're not willing to except that we need them and therefore we must respect them to their deaths. We can do this by humanely putting them down giving them a good life while they're here, and most importantly by using every part of them after their death. This is the way that we can as a human race could live up to the principles that haunt when we see those videos. Making synthetic fabrics which are not biodegradable which release unbelievable amounts of toxins into the air and the water of developing countries they are made in, and create birth defects and disease in these countries is wrong. Let's not even discuss the amount of petroleum (GAS) which is used in the transport and manufacturing a synthetic products.

The lesson is simple. Life equals death, we will all die, its how we walk on this earth while you're here that matters. It is how we treat ourselves and others and all life for that matter, and it is what will make the difference long after our passing. I do not feel that I have the right to tell other how to live there lives. Because it is their choice, as it is a choice of every human being to wear what ever they choose. Sensationalizing the cruelty of animals is in itself cruel. By telling Westerners to stop wearing fur do you actually think it will stop cruelty? That is the ignorance of this entire blog. Go try and live 30 days without touching one thing that animal has not suffered for you to have. Little girl, you will not make it a day. You want a cause, trying to help the millions of children in this country that are being abused, neglected and that are starving. There are a vast number of children sitting in group homes, foster homes and detention centers that need attention. They need the entire countries help.
    • WOW Just because you think you sound intelligent, doesn't mean you have the slightest clue about any of this. I'd like to watch you skin an animal, ALIVE, then wear it's fur. Anyone who can actually do that to another creature is probably going to hell. Have fun. :)
    • fine, go to peta2.com. you can watch videos of cows being skinned alive for those precious leather shoes you love so much or that new jacket. imagine having your own skin ripped off of you while you were kicking and screaming and got no mercy. think what you want, but there is no way this is natural or just a way of life.
    • Yes I have seem them all, and there is not just one way to put these animals down. These lives can be respected and these deaths can be more humane. Look at native American Indians and how they respect life. But respecting life means respecting death. This is the only way to fix this problem, we cant through the baby out with the bath water. It is childish to think we can just stop eating meat but we can change how we go about doing so.
    • wow this sorta made me wanna cry...
    • You should know that many very high end designers were caught using dog fur and even the "best" salons get some of their products from fur farms like this one in China http://bit.ly/3UGfCv

Yes, much of how human beings live negatively affects the environment & animals but we can and must do everything we can to lessen our imprint. Don't eat meat; demand and actively buy products from companies that attempt to be more humane, and SPEAK OUT as we learn.

American economy is dependent upon China. The Chinese are just emerging from a history of poverty and unchecked human rights violations. If we two nations cannot teach one another and reign in the other's danger zones, we're all in for some scary times. As consumers we have the power to speak with our purchasing dollars.

I am not a fan of Ms. Tequila's but I do support what she says here and if she uses her celebrity for a good cause then more power to her, regardless of ulterior motives.
    • u are sick in the head and the thought of u defending any kind of fur wearing after watching this makes me sick to my stomach. ur as bad as the bastards doing the actual skinning and u can burn in hell right along with them. u are ignorant and cruel. maybe we should skin u and call it "fine fur'. get ur mind right!!!
    • You are just plain wrong.

The fur procured from the animals in those videos is used in products sold in Target, Bloomingdale's, Burberry, Burlington, Calvin Klein, & stores all over the United States & Europe. It's deliberately mislabeled as "faux fur" and used as trim on "hoodies" which are very popular.

What, exactly, is"fine" fur, my sick friend? The animals whose pelts are sold in Bergdorf's have been anally electrocuted wth hot long electrified rods rammed up inside them, had poison injected in their hearts, been caught in tortuous leg traps & brutalized had their spins sapped in half by human hands. Tell me what's "elegant" or fine about that.

You are grossly miseducated. I don't advocate faux fur, but it beats your arguments that life=death. If you believe what you say, I dare you to spend a day in a pork slaughterhouse. I dare you to spend a day in a mink farm & watch them do what they do, smell the smells, hear the screams of the dying animals.

You are a sociopath & a dangerous person.
  • so are you a vegetarian?....
  • What I have just saw was just not right to animals. personaly myself I take care of them. People out there should take another look and think what if the animal did that to them. Now my question about pandas are answered just by this vid, O.K some might do die of natural causes but probably most of them die cause people hunt for them and take there skin... Just like Tila when it comes to animal I care a lot about them. I just hope they come near me and my dog away and do that...
  • Yay! I'm glad you care about animals! I'm happy that you have made the choice to going fur-free. You should go vegetarian because you can't say you care about animals and then eat them people! congratulations on your choice to go fur-free!!! To the people who think the animals need to be humanely SLAUGHTERED, that would be better, but they're still be KILLED for their skin. How would you like it if someone humanely euthanized you just so they could have your hair... think about it.
  • i couldnt even finesh whatching this video i couldnt even stay to see the white dog get out of the cage. it was just to evil. theres gotta be away to stop all this skinning sh*t because i have a dog and had some birds and fish. birds died and my fish and dog are still going good. i just want to try and protect them and their skin. animals dont wanna die without their skin as much as we do.
