What Do Michelle Obama, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy & Tila Tequila Have In Common?

On twitter, my new favorite hangout, fridays are called "follow friday" where users give suggestions of friends to follow. This Friday I am thrilled to say people are following their hearts! In my heart today is Tila Tequilla (follow her at @officialTila)- who has contributed greatly to what is already a monumental week for animals and the people who fight the good fight for them. Our blogger, Tila Tequilla, trumped all of our other celebrity bloggers by handing in the most viewed and commented blog in the history of Global Grind on the subject of animal abuse

Overnight, more and more people were introduced to the horrors of the fur trade, all because she had the heart to speak up. Then, this morning I was just speaking to my friend Dan Mathews, VP of Peta, who told me that America's first lady, Michelle Obama and France's first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy have declared themselves FUR FREE!!! This day marks a shift in human consciousness. We are finally, after years of going head to head with the fur industry, changing the way the world views fur. It is no longer being viewed as a way to floss and show off your status or bank account- it is now a billboard of cruelty on people's back. So, on Follow Friday I celebrate these victories with all my friends in the animal rights movement and now I will do what I always do, put my head down and get back to work.

We have very very far to go until all animals are liberated from pain and suffering..but dare I say, we are on our way.

What? PLease, give me a break. Comparing a woman who has a degrees, is a loving mother of two and has taken on the role of First Lady to a young girl who invested in fake breasts and sensationalized her bisexuality? With all due respect Mr. Russell Simmons and I know you, you are wrong they are not equals though I do believe they will go down in history only because they were on the planet at the same time doing quite opposite things. The first lady makes me proud to be a woman, the little blogger whom has little to no self-respect now she is someone who does not make me proud to be a woman. I feel it's important to acknowledge the aspirational woman are first lady is, it is inappropriate and disrespectful to combine these women in any category other than current events of 2009. Many things will fall under that, let's all hope they're more positive and revolutionary headlines. We are forefront of the most trying times this country has ever seen I do not see how Tila Tequilla is relevant in any way to anything I just don't see it. We are all constantly been duped into thinking that items like these are news worthy. Mr. Simmons they are not, show us how you're using your star power to help children in this country and any of the other unbelievably important topics that lay before us. And maybe you'll have the opportunity to move closer to the Nirvana you seek.

I am just a common young mother of 3, no one sexy or special but I am fur-free, too. It doesn't matter your profession, your personal life or whatever...just do what's right and GOD does the rest

yesturday when i seen that video i could not even watch 3 seconds of it and i already didnt belive in fur but that just makes u relize what these animals go threw and how people get this fur i was horrified i am seriously proud of tila she was brave to so something like this and i new this would happen i have a husband that like hunting (witch i frikin hated sooo much) that seen this and was inraged and now he is no longer going to relizing how these pour animals have the right to live we need to fight back for these animals and they need our help so bad and we need people to see these horible videos even if they are hard to watch these people who do this to pour helpless animals are sick and need help and have mentally something wrong with them.....it still bothers me i cant get that image out of my head but seriously tila is an amazing women and some people say she this and that but she is an amazing women and very smart and because of her now there is alot more people out there that know the truth of what happens to these pour animals and i thank you tila! :)

tila has a great personality. I was her fan when she was nobody (she wasnt famous yet), she stays true to herself and her fans. She works very hard to enter the holywood industry. I know that she has a lot of kicks back but i hope she will stay strong and keep doing what best for herself. I love you tila.

Actually all of you guys are seriously the dumb ones if u truly think this article was literally comparing Tila to Michelle Obama. The article meant that in terms of their strong actions and strong drives and their motivation and dedication to certain things they truly care for that made them so alike. I mean, of course you wouldn't put tila and obama on the same level. and i can't believe these stupid people are taking all of that in. yeahyeah maybe the article was a bit exaggerated...but my goodness, you guys focus wayyy too much on what's appealing on the outside.

Tila has done alot to try and help. She may not have had the perfect career or life but she has done more then alot of ppl who have had it easy. She is one of my role models. at least she stands up for what she believes in.
