“I WOULDN'T WISH THIS ON MY WORST ENEMY…”

So it's been a little over a year since Remy Ma has been in prison but it feels like forever since Remy Mackie formerly known as Remy Smith has been incarcerated.

I always find myself thinking about what I was doing a year ago, two years ago, five years ago today. I never remember exactly where till I find myself imagining where I would be today. I rarely listen to the radio because it’s sort of depressing. Not being able to record is stressful not because I’m a rapper but because that was my way of venting and expressing myself. So I write a lot! So much that now I have a callous on my finger from holding a pen. I guess I got used to texting my rhymes!

I get a lot of fan mail and everyone asks me how I’m doing? I say fine, the way I see it I never imagined making it this far with my sanity. Not being able to go somewhere when you want, see your family when you want (on many occasions when you need to), can't use the phone, take a shower, wear clothes, or even eat when you want - super aggravating. Whenever, which is almost everyday I get visits, a lot of kids ask for autographs. It’s something that I used to do almost everyday but now it actually feels weird, I really feel like an inmate.
And as much as I hate to admit it, I really am an inmate. I mean, it kind of grows on you when certain people go out of there way to make you feel like that.

They have this program called YAP (Youth Assistance Program) they keep asking me to join. It’s a program that brings inner city kids to the prison to show them what it’s like to be incarcerated. I hear that every group asks about me but I’m a little hesitant to join. They think it will give the kids a reality check that this can happen to anyone. I however feel that it’ll be more of the kids wanting to see Remy Ma the rapper and because of that they won't get that I'm actually in jail. So I'm still contemplating. If I figure out a way for them to actually get it, that this is really not a place you would ever want to be whether for 8 years, 8 months, or 8 minutes then I’ll do it.

Everyone in prison isn't innocent but everyone in prison isn't guilty. So whether you end up here on purpose or by accident, the pain you’re feeling is still the same.  And I can quote a lot "gangsters” by saying that “I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy…”

Forever Innocent,
Rem

  • She is where she deserves to be, didn't nobody tell Remy Ma to be hard and shooy somebody.I guess when u in the rap game, u try to live a certain life style. Gangsta rap and tryin to be a hard ass got her in prison.
  • The largest growing population in prison is females. We have done such a great job glamorizing violence in our community. It is time for the hip-hop community to send a greater, stronger message to our youth. It is the realness of your reality that will capture the attention of our youth-isn't that what made hip-hop. Understand that everything happens for a reason and while you would not wish your experience on anyone-do you think that your experience and your life was intended so that you could save other lives. www.weneedpeaceandlove.com
  • Keep ur head up girl don't let nobody bring u down i don't know the situation that put u in here fully, but you'll think twice next time and see that it's not worth it stay strong for yourself.
  • Keep ur head up girl don't let nobody bring u down, you won't be in there forever stay strong.
  • Keep your head up girl you won't be in here forever and don't let nobody bring u down stay strong take this one on the chin and just know next time whatever the situation is walk away you know who u are and what ur about.
  • I don't understand why people r so judgmental. If they were in the same situation they would want the same love. Jail is no place for no human being. I think the system make sure that they show no remorse because they are famous. They try to make an example of celebrities. And trust me racial profiling still exist in this world today, and is not going away. If she wasn't (black), trust me she would have got a slap on the arm and maybe probation.
  • YOU STILL THE BADDEST CHICK IN DA GAME!
  • R u f*ckin Serious this bish shoots someone and has the nerve to complain and all the outpouring of love and support??? STOOOPIIID I bet that girl she shot wouldn't wish that on her worse enemy either...
    • I agree 100 percent.....Gotta be fair. But hold your head ma. We got you.
  • Just keep your head up, we miss you.
  • we all live and learn
  • Keep your head up I am praying for you God is good he will see you through all of this talk too you soon, peace.
  • What's good Rem. I just heard that I'm the Queen joint. It's poppin'. I can't wait to here that PunisHer Album. And I'm a tell you just like I used to tell my big bro. It's just time, that's all. It's your time. Use it to figure out your next move when the time is over. Cause when your out, in one way or another your time belongs to someone else. And forget the haters say. Cause like Kim say "AT THE END OF THE DAY"(lol) they're broke, they've never seen the things you've seen, gone the places you've gone, and their probably really un-happy with their lifes outside of jail. So keep your head up, make the best of your time, and it'll all be over soon.
  • you know what is fu#ked up is that u got eight years and the bit#ch who killed my 8yr old nephew because she thought texting on her phone going 40 miles in 15 mile school zone was more important you know what she got a slap on the wrist and thats what my family lives with everyday what do u say to that i think she should of been in someone cell cause all he did was cross the street to go play with a friend he did nothing to her he didnt even know her so if you would have ran her over you would have got a slap on the wrist cause thats what they giving out know days how is that for a thought much love michae
