  • I can't say what magazines are good or not because I don't buy them enough to know. However, I think we are going to see alot of magazines stop printing and the end of new magazines popping up. With the decline of news paper sales and the advancement of everything being on the net, it only makes sense. Of course you can't get rid of them all together because they are still usefull at places like doctor's offices, dentists, hair & nail salons, etc.,
  • UMmm no it isn't suprising. News paper has been dying due to things like the internet and the blow up of social networks and shoot even Global Grind. Our generation doesn't belive in print much. You can get a lot of stuff offline.

Maybe things like this well help people to realize if we ignor print say Good bye to all ur fav magazines.
  • Blame it on the internet. I enjoyed some of the articles and ads in Vibe. You can also blame the economy. When it comes to paying bills and a magazine subscription. Well, you know what is going to come first.
    • If I would have read southsidequeens post before I posted, i would have just co-signed her. my bad..
  • DAMN THATS SAD TO HEAR WHATS GOIN ON?!?!
  • Damn, that's messed up.
  • RIP VIBE! http://tinyurl.com/nf3q65
  • I personally still read magazines and have subscriptions to a bunch of them including Vibe. I think it sucks to take folks money when you know that things are not looking good. I got screwed with Vibe Vixen also when they went out of business. This is some hot assed mess indeed.
  • I'm not surprised. When was the last time you picked up/purchased a physical magazine? I flip through whenever I'm in the bookstore buying books and put it right back down. I get my breaking and entertainment news from the net. They should just stick to publishing online. Heck of a lot cheaper...
  • Well if you want to get technical did you get a memo when Vibe Vixen stopped being printed?? So hey... sad nonetheless though!
  • (1992-2008)? Typo, or did it die last year and nobody noticed?
    • Typo, although the latter wouldn't surprise me. That mag hasn't been decent in years lol
  • 1992-2008? Aren't we in 2009? I'm confused ...
    • HAHAHA THAT WAS FUNNY!! ...cause it did die the magazine got wack after it started looking and acting like a tabloid mag

      sorry Quincy
  • All I know ist that Questo from The Roots is not happy, and if he's not happy, I'm not happy.
  • This is one thing I really cant believe because vibe has been around for so long keeping the hood and hip-hop culture alive within our communities. Now this is a true shame, and I feel like they have a responsibility to the subscribers to have alerted us before hand. Totally, unprofessional on that level, but I can understand how something like this could happen. The internet is so alive and global until the comtemporary thing to do is surf the net because you can reach so many people. To me that's the true way to stay in touch and make a name for yourself. With all the blogs, photo, and video capability made available the internet is mainstream which makes people deviate from the more traditional for of receiving news in the written medium. Either way I'm good.
  • wow... where for art thou AA media?
  • After Kevin Powell left the paper went downhill anyway. no surprise they should have turned it into an online mag. These analog ppl need to get with the digital world.
