I get you--know I do, but I think what is throwing people off is that Amber has thrown the cart before the horse. She obtained a hopefully lucrative contract and no one knew she had a talent. Keeping it real, I know countless women in entertainment who have taken unconventional routes to fame, but never in my life have I witnessed a woman who, without a resume, laud her 'accomlishments' when all she's known for is who she dates. I wish her luck 'cause every human should live their dreams, but if one of my little nieces ask "How did she get a Ford Contract?" How am I gonna answer that?



That's the point. Since everyone knows her only as Kanye's girlfriend, she is projecting what is in no way a dream for many people, but a nightmare. It says: women are sexual objects and can only achieve their dreams by sleeping their way to making loot. It doesn't mean she's a bad person or the only one doing it. Many women have done the same except they've waited until they've built a name for themselves THEN they hired a publicist to do the big ups.



In this new society of overt tolerance we seem to accept mediocrity with abandon and have become afraid to demand excellence for fear of being called a "hater," or better yet, "moral." Reminds me of where I read that satanism is based on letting people "live their lives" as long as they aren't hurting anyone. Makes me wonder which bible people are actually reading.

Yea I completely understand but does she owe us an explanation? We all have different perceptions which is obvious and as a 22 year old woman who has always been interested in the lavish lives of celebrities, I have seen good great and despicable, because surroundings and rearing have distinguished what is what...not judging her action in any way at all but ultimately we all make our decisions, every man for himself despite of who else does what...we are always influenced by people, those on television, family and so much more...life period...but as we are the ones who live with these decisions as siblings, parents and those who hold intimate relationships with children, it is naturally our duty to rear our children to distinguish what they see as moral as opposed to not...THE INTERESTING THING OF IT ALL is that no one considered whether she was always in pursuit of a modeling career...yes she dates Kanye West, but these could have always been dreams of hers...FURTHERMORE she has not made any comments to the public revealing her plans aside from now, obviously she was in a certain place of a certain caliber to meet a well known artist such as Kanye West, but we didnt consider that this place was because she was in pursuit of her dreams...shes nevevr toldl the public anything aside from this but many felt the need to draw conclusions because she dates a celebrity...so interesting how our dreams are overshadowed by the unnecessary facets of life (to others) and talents that we may bring are so overlooked because we as critics chose to draw our conclusions from mere pictures...just my thoughts...i respect and appreciate your response nonetheless.

She doesn't owe the public any explanation. People are just stating their opinions based on the undisputed (by her or Kanye who is usually very vocal) information the rags are spewing. That's how it works. First impressions and all that. I don't think she minds the supposed misconception of her true character (if it is any different) because it it's the totality of her "celebrity." What is evident is she is willing to pursue her career by any means necessary and that seems to have entailed being at the right place at the right time and sleeping with/being seen with the right person. Bottom line, is that you don't crow on an accomplishment achieved by riding someone's coattails before you've blazed a trail for yourself, Period. Especially if you're sleeping with that person 'cause people will holler "shananigans"! There is no cleaning that up. In the future people may forget and and I hope she give them a reason to.

She's getting a lot of media attention and therefore she has been made into an insta-celebrity so any portion of celebrity is what she's talking about. She could use her time on camera negatively or she can turn it into a positive--she is taking this opportunity to secure herself in the long run, after ppl forget her name.
