Today was a good day.

A few weeks ago, I told Uncle Russ that I do not want to "waste my celebrity," as my celebrity is a gift to me, my family and the world…not only for me to get ahead, but for others as well. So, I am happy to announce that I have officially signed to the Ford Agency and I am moving to NY to pursue my modeling and acting careers! I am going to be taking acting classes in NY and will pursue the dreams that I have had my entire life. Today, I feel really blessed. I can actually look @ this contract and know that I have made some progress. Proof that when you work hard, good things do happen. I know it is just a piece of paper, but to me that contract represents millions of opportunities that are now before me. Again, it is not just to help me, but so I can make a greater impact around the world. The world is only what you make it…so when you have great opportunities, use them and make your dreams come true!

Okay maybe some would look at this being a "hater" but I am honestley asking a question...So to all of the newfound Amber Rose fans please help me on this one!! Okay, so besides doing a few videos, and being known for dating Kanye West...What exactly did she do to become a celebrity??

- She's famous for being herself. You could ask the same question of Paris Hilton & Nicole Ritchie. Famous for a last name isn't any better. It's the world we live in now.

- not a thing to do with being a hater, as I truly wondered the same thing Kevin Smith asked. i wiki'd as the LeR suggested and came up with a Mexican American singer from San Antonio...i'm assuming this is not the "celebrity".

- Why are you so angry?? IT really was a question!! People throw the word hater around so easily, with no clue what it means!! To hate on someone means you are jealous of that person...Why would I be jealous of someone who dance around music videos and sucked and f*cked someone famous, to make themselves famous!!
  
  Over the weekend we just celebrated the life of someone who really had talent and deserved to be called famous!! What the f*ck has she done to the world of pop culture to make herself in anyway famous!! Give it six months to a year and you will see her either on some celeb-reality show or not at all!!

- Your question was honest. First off, props to her and any other legitimate models out there for representing us women of color, that was long overdue. Props to her feeling inspired by Mr. Simmons, to be a positive "public" person. Is she a celebrity right now though? I don't know. I think people should call themselves what they are. She's a celebrities girlfriend, definitely a model, but a celebrity? I don't think so, but she soon will be. If Paris Hilton was Paris Smith would we care about her? No. So obviously Paris Hilton capitalized off of her last name. But even Paris had her own show and modeling campaigns. In short, you can't just call yourself a celebrity, you do have to work at it, also if she wasn't with Kanye, could she hold her own? So props to her for doing her own thing.

- Seriously what has she done. The example of Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritche you offer only proves the point. Neither one of them are respected for anything substantial. I think we confuse celebrity with notoriety. Nicole Ritchie, Paris Hilton and now Amber Rose are notable for being affiliated with celebrities, hence their "notoriety." However, we celebrate our "celebrities' for their accomplishments, for what they've contributed to the betterment of society. That's what distinguishes the two. What or rather how has Amber Rose contributed to the betterment of our society?
