I don't get it. Who cares what people say, the record sales and downloads should speak for itself. But I think he's talking about the "industry folk" wanting to change the way he does his music, but that's what got him so much love. Soulja Boy, keep making the music you love, cuz at the end of the day, you gotta love you. And I liked his performance and the song.

I'm not a fan of Souljah Boy's. Like a lot of folks, I consider much of his music to be over-simplified call/response b.s. with elementary beats and little to no creativity.

Unlike some, I don't have hate in my heart for the artist himself, albeit, I could certainly do without him being so f-cking arrogant.

In any case, I've said it before, I'll say it again, this was bound to happen, the hip-hop community is FICKLE as hell! What they love this year, they might hate next year, particularly if it's something as ridiculous as "Crank Dat". To my mind, I put "Crank Dat" in the same category as the "Macarena" for the record.

Bottom line is whenever Soulja Boy gets a little too much criticism, he always resorts to crying that he's ONLY a kid and I'm frankly tired of hearing it.

Soulja Boy if you want to play a grown man's game, take your lumps like a grown man and stop crying that you're ONLY 18.

Hip-Hop is big business and as long as you try to present yourself as an ADULT you are going to be treated acordingly.

None of the child groups that came out in the past had your problems because they knew their lane and stayed in it.

Not Kriss Kross, not Shyheim, not the Rugged Rascals, not Another Bad Creation, nor Bow Wow. None of these acts had even half the probs you do because they presented themselves as childrens groups and stayed in their lane!

Problem is, there are 18 year olds in Iraq and Afghanistan dying and getting wounded fighting for their country.

By 18 you should have graduated high school and set your career path in the world. Time to be done with hiding behind the wall of delinquency.

I feel sorry for him. He had everybody trying to crank that just a couple of yrs ago now everybody going for his head. I don't get it- no i don't like some of the stupid music he drops but who cares- I don't listen to the crap I think is garbage like "Booty Doo" and rock to "Turn My Swag On" (which I think is kinda motivational in a Soulja Boy kinda way lol). People need to let this boy be. He is a kid and it is not up to him to carry the weight of what people think music should sound like on his shoulders. I just pray that the harsh criticism doesn't drive him to do something crazy. I swear people can be so heartless at times, and then they sing praises of how great you are when it's too late. If the outside looking in a$$ $#it talkers dragged the best who ever did it through hell, I don't see why they'd cut soulja boy some slack. I hope he stays strong, keeps his head up, and keeps smiling.

As much as I am not a fan of his music, I have to say that I feel where he's coming from. Not in the sense of making millions in the rap game, but signing up for something without being fully aware of what comes with it!!



I'm pretty sure like anyone aspiring to get in the rap game, they think all it will be is money, fast cars, beautiful women, and a complete and total care free lifestyle!! But I think whats happening is he is slowly realizing how fake and phony the game can really be!! I doubt seriously he is as dumb as his music, but when you come out the gate, and your first single is talking about super soaking a hoe, then you've already dug your grave!!



Right now what Soulja boi needs to do is fall back for a while and enjoy this new wealth with his family and real friends and try to get his sh*t in prespective!! Then try to reach out to some of the older cats in the game, so he can gain some knowledge and insight on what to expect, then finally sit down with himself and come up with a game plan to where he can get some of his dignity back, and make the music he wants to make and not the music he Think is expected of him!!

Hell he said in his song "yeahhhh I'm making moneyyyyyy" so what is he complaining about, he rapping about he got his swag on, he must have pulled it off LOL.

I think he is mad at himself, his songs are being criticized and it is getting to him, I guess he has to learn that is the nature of the game, he will have to learn to deal with it or get mad. Snake skin is not just for shoes, he has to have it to survive in the entertainment world and the "real" world period. life gets tough but we all can recover. we have to break down to gain perspective, then we learn and move on to better things.
