The news broke yesterday (just as staff were hearing) that the legendary VIBE Magazine was to fold, that day. Ex employees and faithful readers sent messages on twitter that the magazine had been going down hill the past 5 years since new people took over and didn’t know how to run the magazine and incorporate new media.

Reports are now suggesting that Vibe Magazine founder Quincy Jones will step in and try to save the magazine , with more emphasis on new media.

I think doing tings like the ‘Tabloid’ issue ( gossip that had been on blogs the months before) and this kind of cover may be the reason why the magazine folded.
