U.S. payrolls tumbled by an unexpectedly large amount last month on widespread declines across manufacturing, construction and professional services, a grim reminder that the path to economic recovery will be bumpy.

The unemployment rate, meanwhile, continued to creep toward double digits, rising to its highest level in over 25 years.

Global Grind would like to hear from you.  If you are unemployed, please let us know your story and if you have any thoughts about how America can create more jobs, tell us that too.  We are working on a project and need your input...

  • What does it take to get you people to wake up and see the light! What's wrong with you. To be honest, I'm sick and tired of the nonsense. A friend of mine has been out of work for a year, looking for work! This does'nt make sense. People seem to be conditioned to working for others and not for themselves. They want someone else to pay them for working, those days are over.

You must learn to EMPLOY yourself or be UMEMPLOYED! If you are unemployed, out of work, looking for work, or just simply stopped looking for work! I want you to go to my website @ www.maxgxlnyc.com and take a serious look at MAX INTERNATIONAL. I can ask a 1000 people on the streets if they have ever heard of Max International and most likely they all will say no, there was a time when people did not know of Microsoft,Google,Facebook,Twitter,Amazon, Apple,BET and so on. You get my meaning! All of the people who were involved with these companies when they first started have all become very wealthy individuals.

I encourage everyone within my reach to join me in building one of the most successful companies history. And by the way Max International is already paying out some serious checks folks and were only 2 years old.

I can only help those who want to help themselves.

  • I've been unemployed since Jan 2, 2009 due to a "workforce reduction." Since then I took on a part-time job making $11.14 an hour as a Personal Care Assistant. However, since I'm receiving $350.00 a week in unemployment benefits if I make more than $200.00 at my part-time unemployment deducts from my weekly benefit. My rent is $1,215.00 a month, my car payment is $371.00, I haven't had insurance on my car since May and now facing license suspension. I just received a notice from my rental office initiating my eviction because I owe $2,853.00 for June and July including late and lawyer fees. My vehicle will be repossession and in order to keep my license I will be turning in my plates. Let's not forget food, water bill, and electric bill. I went from barely making ends meet living check to check with an annual salary of $51,600. I'm depressed, anxious, sad, angry, and fed up. The sad thing is without any children or dependants I don't qualify for any assistance. I'm not sure what this country needs to do but we are a consumer country and that needs to be adjusted because the products/services we consume that are necessary for survival; however, we don't make enough to survive. I've distributed my resume throughout Northern VA, DC, and MD and no prospects. I've been on plenty interviews and one temporary assignment. I finally got an offer from Lockheed Martin and patiently waiting to complete the vetting process. By the time I get my first pay check I'll already be on the streets.
