**Globalgrind.com Exclusive** A lot of people talking about what I twittered the other night…so I want to address it, now that I have had some time to do some thinking. At 18 years, having grown up in the Mississippi Delta, I never thought my life would take me to where I am now. All I wanted to do was make music. All I thought I loved was music. I would die for that motherfuckin music. But, once I got a record deal and all these people around me trying to tell me who to be, what to do and how to do it, I realized that I wasn’t making music any more for the love. I got into this weird place where I began making music for the money. And I was making a lot of money…more money than I could ever imagine. And with that money, of course, I could buy a lot of things…but to be honest, you can only drive that brand new phantom around the corner oh so many times… and when you are done driving, it really don’t mean sh*t. I thought money was gonna bring me happiness. And that is the farthest thing from the truth. Money f*cks you up.

I know I might sound crazy, because a lot of you who are reading are probably like, I wish I had this ni**a’s money. But, the truth is that money got me twisted. All I want to do is go back to making music for the love of it. The accolades and the awards are for everyone else. The music is for me. The music is my happiness. So, of course I am struggling in my mind right now…cause I wanna get back to place where I woke up, thinking about what I was gonna write that day. Where I went to sleep ready to dream about what I was gonna write the next day.

I know my fans. And I know they will understand this. This ain’t got nothing to do with y’all. Oh yeah... sorry to all my white peeps out there. I'm not racist :) But I guess time will heal all wounds…

Dear soulja boy I understand what u are saying. You have to love yourself and find yourself. Selling your soul for money and material possesions is not the key. It will only give you temporary happiness and not permanent happiness. You have wonderful oppourtunities that you should be thankful for. I know you may feel empty, depressed, and confused. Sometimes I feel that way but I want to let you know you are not alone andI support you no matter what decision you choose to make. My advice to you is to go with your heart and you will be fine. Who cares what people say.

im no music expert but if what got you started was the Love of music then thats what you need to keep you grounded cause if you jus doin what u doin for the money then your heart wont be in your music and it will show cause eventually you'll jus be makin commercial music jus so ita sell and it wont mean anything to you but another check. Dont lose sight of why u got in the game n jus keep doin yo thing baby boy... Make it matter to you. real talk

See you probably concentrating on dead lines, schedules,how much will my next album sell and all that other sh*t.I think you should surround yourself with other ppl that got mad luv 4 music and extend what type of music you listen 2.When you start 2 appreciate classical,tribal, and old school music you gone put out a got damn album thats gone go down in history.Even more so than your first album cause whether you know it or not you made history already.Don't look at it as "I gotta keep makin music" cause in actuality you don't.I know you made good money already sh*t take a break,go see the world,have sum fun and when you come back 2 the studio you gone be ready.Oh yeah I thought you was from Atlanta?

I love u soulja boy but sometimes it takes memory to take the place of life, because i'm 18 going on 19 years old and i get through way in life perfect without money.

When you get a chance to feel something in your life other than music do that. Don't wait before it's to late.

Hope you aren't offended by this at all:

I just got done watching MTV cribs with featured your house in LA. And I must say it's an amazing house. One of the things I truly don't agree with you is how you flash your money. I'm alot of young artist out there really loose touch of why they did things in the first place. Im sure that when you first started you didn't do the music thing to be able to say "Yes I have Gucci bed sheets" or "This is what it feels like stepping on 2k" (referring to your LV rug. In the beginning you did things not because to have woman throw themselves at you or to "stunt like yo daddy" you did things because you love it. You loved music. And I'm happy your realizing it.
