His Royal Badness, Prince Rogers Nelson has said nary a word on the passing of his musical rival, Michael Jackson. Not that he's supposed to, but generally two masters in the same arena acknowledge each other in death, if not in life. The two geniuses were musical opposites in their hey day, pushing each other to new creative heights."Thriller" was met by "Purple Rain.""Bad" was countered with "Sign O the Times."Prince was the do-it-all musician was Michael was the consummate performer. You could be in both camps but you couldn't love both of them the same. That's just how it was.Now that one is no longer with us, the other's absence is stark.

  • Prince is a smart man I don't blame him for not speaking publically. I respect the way he lives his life privately. I would bet a million dollars that he sent his condolences to Mrs. Jackson. He does not owe his condolences to the public. Kick rocks.
  • u R right!!! Prince is smarter than that.
  • why should prince have to say

anything becausevthey didnt talk when michael was alive, but far as performers they are both great
  • Stop trying to make something out of nothing. People grieve in their own way. Shame on you!
  • The website Dr. Funkenberry reports that recently, Prince has been performing Michael Jackson songs in his sets, “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough” and recently “Dancing Machine” by the Jackson 5.

  • Prince should acknowledge Michael Jackson's death. I view their profiles as somewhat similar. The most obvious similarities are the same birth year, race, Midwest origins, high net worth ( millions ), falsetto voice, and sexual orientation question marks.

He may have said something recently, but apparently his lips were mum as of 18 days ago.

Just say something. Anything! It doesn't require a speech writer. Not saying something raises a lot of eyebrows.

Show business is a very superficial world with a lot of insincerity. Big egos and big air kisses abound. But most superstars, of equal stature, comment about a peer's passing.

  • Prince has made no public comment because public comments are useless and unecessary. He isnt obligated to speak on it. They were not friends or associates so why should he say anything. Prince is not saying anything because he is smarter than those who feel the need to.
