I think it's great when celebs do charity work, but i can understand why people are wondering why russel asked kim to go to africa. I mean how can kim talk about the importance of education when she doesn't have any? Russel should have asked college grads to go. It's not like kim is a big household name, she's not really that famous, i don't think she's big in south africa, most of those people probably don't even know who she is, and somehow she's supposed to go over there and tell them how important education is? And when they ask her what qualifications she has, what is she going to say? I mean really?

Wow..imagine the impact that can be made if all these people putting in all this energy and thought would come together and use it to their own advantage or to help somebody living right next door to them thats losing their house as we speak or to stand up for the child who is being mistreated or planting a new seed into the next child who is about to try drugs or join a gang cuz they know nothing else...instead of wasting the time on one woman who is doing much more than you ever thought about. She's in the position and shes taking advantage of it regardless of her intentions it WILL make a difference and she will be blessed. As far who Reggie or she chooses to date its their business who they are attracted to...there are alot of women in the world who dont have the right to choose who they wife and live miserable lives. Does it matter what race a gay black man dates? We all have our own talents and purpose in life..its up to you to find and use your own...do it and stop knocking down the next person who is.

This is just my opinion and I would never disparage anyone doing legitimate charity work but I think Russell Simmons is greatly overestimating Kim's effect and appeal. He says that she will bring attention to South Africa and the issues going on there. No, she will bring attention to herself--tabloid attention. Kim is a tabloid star; she doesn't make it into serious, high profile magazines. And furthermore, she doesn't represent education, talent, hard work, or charity. She isn't as well known and respected as other celebrities who have done charity and for whom this "attention to the plight" idea might work. She represents nothing to anybody except young girls who want to be as pretty as she is or drive a Bentley or whatever.

As far as I am concerned, you might as well send Paris Hilton. She'll bring attention too and really, there is no difference between Paris and Kim.

But what exactly will they be doing besides observing? Are they donating? teaching class? what exactly?

WOW, people what person on here is mother theresa? WE all have skeletons in the closet or in public like t.v people. Hello!! get out of denial!



So Kim is not perfect and doe's not wear a halo, you do not either, and given a opprotunity, some of you would do things for money that you say you would not.



Get over your self-righteous false self, how about you get off the computer and help someone in your community today? Or better yet clean up your own side of the street.



Sometimes it takes a process for all walks of life people to make progress wether they are playboy bunny's to oprah's to the man or women under the bridge, any change that helps themselves or others is a good thing.



If you judge so harshly, you must be miserable to live with. Do you think honestly it will snap Kim to change if you critize her, do you really think you add anything to critize, what you do is draw attention and you just became what you judge her for. Maybe you like that.



So we all fall short, pick yourself up and appauld her for doing something different.

Congrats Kim for helping others. Continue to do what you do and forget all the haters. If they aint hatin then u aint doing something right. And for all u haters out there get a life and go do something positive!

If you are reading this follow your heart. If you heart tells you to visit Africa for charity by all means do it. I am sure that this visit will be very inspiring and life changing for the both of you. Don't worry about what critics have to say about you, always follow your heart.
