REALITY television star Kim Kardashian has learned the hard way that it is a good idea to do a little research on the country you’re visiting, if you don’t want to appear ignorant.

Kardashian — who is currently in South Africa with her boyfriend, US gridiron star Reggie Bush, and her sister, Khloe, to represent hip- hop mogul Russell Simmons’ Diamond Empowerment Fund education charity — was forced to eat her words.

This was after The Times reported her tweeting, “We are here in Botswana, South Africa”, for which she has received a considerable amount of flak from her followers on the social- networking website.

Hours later, she corrected herself, writing: “Earlier, I said I came to South Africa, then we flew to Botswana and people thought I thought Botswana was South Africa.

“I do know the difference! There is no direct flight from Botswana [to New York City]. Always a stop in Johannesburg .”
