CELLULAR network giant Vodacom has challenged DJs at 11 radio stations around the country to come up with their own videos to the tune of Beyonce Knowles’s hit song Single Ladies.
DJs have gone all out to produce the funniest video, with submissions such as that of Jacaranda FM, which features male DJs wearing mankinis — the costume made famous by Sacha Baron Cohen in his film Borat.
The women in the video wear one-piece black swim suits, black stockings and thigh-high black boots.
Music station 5FM believes its idea — copying Beyonce’s video and featuring DJs Anele Mdoda, Fikile Moeti and Poppy Ntshongwana wearing shiny metallic leggings and black tops — will make it the winner.
MetroFM’s competition entry includes DJs Penny Lebyane, Eddie Zondi and Wilson Nkosi, and producer Lupi Ngcayisa, wearing traditional Xhosa and Zulu outfits and performing traditional dances.
