Hell YEAH!!! We as black people are always too hard on one another, crabs in a bucket. Here was a 16 year old boy to start, and we critiqued and allow him to be critiqued like he was a 30 year old man. How many of us have misspoke or said something that we pray everyday that we can take back ESPECIALLY when we were teenagers? I was 19 and thought filet migon was FISH! We all live and learn! People would say he should know better but why? Why should he know better, who's taught him better? Do we KNOW he should know better? He is a young MS boy, why should he know better? Why are we not mentoring him and encouraging him to continue to stay in the studio and make music instead of being on the street corner selling drugs, he is a motivation for some of us grown ass people to get off of our asses and have hustle like his! My heart bleeds for him being a mother myself to young black boys that really love his music and look at him as an inspiration to what they can accomplish no matter their age or race. How sad would it be if he ended his life because of the pressure? Then people would say he should have thicker skin, or they wish they had of said something different. PEOPLE; he's just a 19 year old KID!!!

No, the media is not too hard on Soulja Boy. If you are going to put yourself in the spotlight, you should be prepared to accept whatever comes with that position (i.e. the good, the bad and the ugly). Furthermore, those who do charity, shouldn't be so quick to throw their "good deeds" around so all know how "kind, generous and thoughtful they are," but rather do the good still and leave it alone. I know he's young and has a lot to learn but he doesn't seem to want to learn anything other than how to put together another grossly unnecessary piece of jewelry. And I personally don't care how he spends his money; it is his and he shall do whatever he pleases with it. But rest assured, if he hasn't invested wisely and hired a proper accountant, I look forward to laughing at him 10 years from now on PerezHilton.com when he is audited into oblivion.
