The prolific "Shaggy Bandit" is in custody after 17 bank robberies in four Western states since June 24, according to the FBI.

The bank robber said to resemble the "Scooby Doo" cartoon character Shaggy has been identified as Michael A. Kincade, 29.

He was arrested in Longmont in a Ford Bronco with stolen Colorado license plates, the FBI announced. The Bronco was driven by Christopher L. Richardson, 45.

While Kincade is being called the alleged bandit, he has only a misdemeanor park-curfew violation from earlier this year on his record.

Richardson, however, has a long criminal record that includes multiple car theft, larceny, burglary, drug, escape, vehicular eluding and drunken-driving charges.
