John Mayer was spotted getting close to Allison Williams from HBO's GIRLS in NYC this week, and now people are thinking the gorgeous girl and the playboy singer are an item.

According to witnesses: 

Allison stunned attendees at an event at Manhattan’s Jane Hotel on Friday night when she walked in with the musician.

The two attended an intimate event for the fashion store American Two Shot where an onlooker told the British tabloid that, “John had his arm around Allison’s waist. They talked for a bit before leaving.”

Allison's people say it was just a friendly encounter because her boyfriend, John's best friend Ricky Van Veen, was there the whole time!
