The Queen of Soul had an affair with a late night talk show host!

It's difficult to grasp the idea of soul-singing queen Aretha Franklin being put into late night positions, but let's do it anyway (no pun intended). 

DETAILS: Aretha Gets Engaged!

Aretha claims to have been involved in a passionate love affair with a late night talk show host, before getting engaged to new fiancé Willie Wilkerson. 

While the legendary singer didn't say who the talk show host was, she did admit to the AP:

"We had an intimate affair. [He was] one of America's late-night talk-show hosts," Franklin said. And "At this point I'm thrilled it didn't [work], and what I was looking for was already here."

This got us thinking, who could it have been?!

Let's go down the list of who Aretha might have been doing the nasty with:

Could it have been with funny man (once weather man) David Letterman or Latin comedian George Lopez? David Letterman did admit to having an affair of his own when a man tried to blackmail him a while back. Hmmm.

How about Coming to America's Arsenio Hall? They worked a lot together back in the day. Maybe it was redhead Sinbad who had his own show in the '90s and also hosted Late Night At The Apollo. Could it have been Jimmy Fallon? Ya know, cougar-style.

Regardless of who the man-friend is, it's clear that this diva has put the affair behind her as she's getting ready to take the marital plunge for a third time! Why? Because as she says:

"I like being married. It's an institution that I like," she said. "So momentarily I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be married."
