Ashanti hasn’t been ruling in the world of music lately but it looks like that may be because she’s focusing more of her attention on her acting career as she has just landed a gig on Lifetime!
The “Only U” singer has just snagged the role of Latasha Durant on the hit show Army Wives on the drama network.

Her character is described as “an optimistic mother of three, a sexy, fun woman who knows how to keep a husband – and how to keep him in line”.
Ashanti will be joining the cast for their 7th season which starts filming this Decemeber in Charleston, South Carolina.

Apparently Ashanti landed the role after a bunch of the regulars on the show have decided to leave, such as Kim Delaney.
