Beyonce will be using her powers for good on August 19th, and all of the days leading up to then! The singer has continuously released messages via Tumblr, urging her followers to support World Humanitarian Day by doing something for someone else – even if it’s small.

This is such a great cause and everyone should be following suit! Support Humanitarian Day, and do something kind for another human being.

Share something with someone less fortunate than you! It doesn’t matter if it’s as small as a sandwich or as big as a house! Give something to someone you know who needs it.

Volunteer at your local nursing home! If you’re kind and patient, nursing homes can always use the extra help. Visit one in your area and ask them if they need any assistance. Or, go and play some games with the elderly… they like to have fun too!

Give a gift to a friend or family member! Giving doesn’t only have to be about strangers! Show your family and friends you care about them. If anyone you’re close to has been having an especially hard time, spend the day with that person and let them vent.

Support a trusted charity! People have become a little bit skeptical about just giving their money to companies in hopes that it will reach those in need. However, there are several organizations that have been trusted for years. Choose one! Or, maybe start your own?

Promote your favorite humanitarian website via Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram! Social networks are the fastest way to spread the word to people. Let them know about the movement online!

Tell a friend about World Humanitarian Day! Word of mouth is still effective too! Have real conversations with friends about the importance of August 19th. Help Beyonce and the UN reach 1 billion people. Hopefully, those people will commit to 1 billion kind actions as well.
