Chris Brown recently gave his first real interview since announcing to the world that he would no longer chat with reporters, TV anchors or paparazzi last year.
In the interview with Fuse TV, you get to see just how interesting a person Chris Brown is, a fact that gets lost within all the drama and speculation surrounding his personal life. Chris discusses how he met Michael Jackson and how deeply the King of Pop influenced his career. We enjoy hearing about Chris' music, but unfortunately for us, public blowups, like his infamous Good Morning America freak out, caused Breezy to pull the media plug.
Kanye West also refuses to do interviews. Kanye hasn't done a sit and chat since Matt Lauer played audio track in Kanye's ear on The Today Show while he was trying to answer a question a few years ago. Since then, Yeezy gave a silent interview to New York Magazine, and then went on 106 & Park, stood there and said nothing while 2 Chainz, Terrence J, and Rocsi all talked about him like he wasn't even present!
It's all pretty strange. These are celebrities who live and die by promotion, but yet don't promote.
Kristen Stewart, star of many major films including The Twilight Saga and Snow White and the Huntsman, hates doing interviews:
"I hate the interview process. I do my work same as you, why do I have to talk about it? I just want to be an actor."
It's not only newcomers. Legendary Bill Murray has only given four interviews in the past decade, director Hype Williams rarely gives interviews, and Eminem has gone mute on the media as well.
While we would like to hear from our favorite celebs more often, in this day and age with unrelenting paparazzi and prodding reporters, we do understand when they don't want to talk.
Check out other mute media fixtures.
