The Dark Knight Rises has risen to a chart-topping opening night!

The Batman flick starring Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway grossed over $27 million on its Thursday midnight opening. This shattered Marvel's The Avengers opening, which had a $18.4 million midnight gross.
