Dark Shadows is ghoulish good time!
There is something about Tim Burton and Johnny Depp that just means magic, and their latest flick is no different.
Now I'll admit Dark Shadows might not be for everyone, but if you're a fan of Tim Burton's work you're going to love this remake of the classic TV show of the same name.
The rehash starts off in the 18th century when Barnabas Collins, played by Depp breaks the heart of his females servants Angelique, only to fall madly in love with Josette Dupres. But, hell knows no fury like a woman scorned and it turns out that Angelique is a witch and gets Barnabas locked away in a casket for 200 years.
That's when his casket is discovered by a bunch of construction workers and Barnabas gets a rude awakening. The movie has the classic Tim Burton aesthetic and there is something about Johnny Deep in makeup that brings people to the box office and fills the seats.
Add in Chloe Moretz, Helen Bonham Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer and one especially hilarious Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon-esque love scene and Dark Shadow will be well worth your money.
So this weekend if you want big laughs, great effects and bloody vampire tales, then Dark Shadows is the movie.
