So Ocho pleads not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of battery... That's definitely not what I expected.
Chad has been inadvertently admitting his guilt since he was released following his August 11th arrest.
Evelyn Lozada, Chad Johnson's estranged wife, maintains that he headbutted her and left a cut on her forehead during an argument over a found receipt for condoms.
Also, the 911 call was released and not to mention, Chad tweeted this following the incident:
In a sea full of sharks accusing Chad of being a wife beater, he says he messed up. Is that not admitting some kind of guilt?
So now, the real question is ... what is the basis for his plea?
By common law, battery is considered "any unlawful touching of the person by the aggressor himself, or by a substance put in motion by him."
By that definition, Ocho is at least, a little wrong if the headbutt went down. He originally said in the police report that Evelyn actually headbutted him.
Is he pleading not guilty in a desperate attempt to win the case and salvage his career and image after being dropped from the Miami Dolphins and losing millions of dollars in endorsements?
He's been refusing to acknowledge the divorce he's going through, saying on Twitter that Evelyn is still his wife.
Is Chad trying to pretend none of what happened, happened? Or is he trying to tell the world he REALLY isn't guilty of what we've assumed he's already admitted to?
