If you're a social media butterfly you've probably been in an undeniable frenzy since everyone's new favorite networking app Instagram has been down and out since last night.
Well we're going to ease your nerves, perhaps boost your patience and fill you in on just why Instagram has not been responding.
Instagram servers are housed in Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud in North Virginia and there was a major thunderstorm that caused an outage in the area.

One of our favorite celeb Instagram-ers, Rihanna vented on the outage and what she'll be doing with her boredom, tweeting:
There's no word on when the app will be back in full effect but surely we can all use our usual photo posting and filter applying time to send well wish to the residents of the North Virginia area that were also affected by the outage.
