Just because you're blonde, doesn't mean you're dumb. Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue cover girl Kate Upton proves just that, as she lets her critics have it.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Sophia Neophitou, editor-in-chief of English fashion mag 10, and casting director for Victoria's Secret's fashion shows, slammed supermodel Kate:

"She’s like a Page 3 girl,” Sophia said, adding she would never cast her for any Victoria's Secret show. “She’s like a footballer’s wife with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy."

The fashion industry takes on a more multicultural and ethnic look, so could Sophia just be telling the truth? 

The 19-year-old blonde bombshell fired back at the haters during her recent interview with Access Hollywood:

"I didn't even try out for the runway show," Upton shot back. "Football player's wife? Gisele [Bundchen's] a football player's wife. I'm okay. Gisele's in that category, I'm good. She wanted to go out and buy my face, it sounds like. That's fine. Go on, buy it. I didn't.... I’m doing fine in my career, I don’t need to walk down their runway so it’s all good. She can think that and I can think whatever I want to think about her."

Kate definitely knows how to speak up when necessary, defending her natural beauty and her successful career. We've got to hand it to her, the girl has guts.

Whether or not Kate ever struts those long legs down a Victoria's Secret Fashion is irrelevant because we have a feeling she's here to stay.
