Katie Holmes has got her groove back!
After finalizing her divorce and custody agreement with Tom Cruise, the Dawson's Creek actress has signed on to return to Broadway.
The now single 33-year-old, who was recently swiped by a New York City garbage truck while in a chauffeured vehicle with her precious daughter Suri, will star in Theresa Rebeck's play, Dead Accounts, as the lead named Lorna.
According to the NY Times:
Ms. Holmes will portray a fairly unglamorous character, Lorna, who is living with her aging parents in Cincinnati while trying to pull together her life (which includes being on a diet).
The new role is sure to keep Katie occupied from thoughts of divorce; she'll be busy enjoying New York, memorizing lines and meeting new people, far from the prying eyes of Scientology.
The play will be directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien and will open at the Music Box Theatre in New York City!
