The world is coming to an end. When an Oscar nominated actress claims that watching Kim Kardashian's divorce for entertainment is like watching a televised death match in a post apocolyptic world it's time to start paying attention.
Now surely when Jennifer Lawrence said this, she wasn't stating that Kim killed Kris Humphries, although some might argue that she did. She was more or less referring to how desensitized we've become as a society.
Whitney Houston was one of the biggest pop stars the world has ever seen and someone sold a picture of her dead body to a tabloid. That tabloid put it on the cover and had it's highest selling issues ever. The world has no feelings.
When I think about reality TV, I think of cat fights, drunken nights, hangovers and make out sessions. Somehow this all seems normal.
Which brings me to Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. Diamond was suppose to be apart fo this new reality show, but it's being rumored that she left after having a talk with God. There are also whispers that she left because her ex boyfriend, Scrappy's mother wants to beat the breaks off of her. For all of those who don't know what beat the breaks off of someone consist of think what MIke Tyson did to fighters back in the 90s.
Well if Diamond wants to bow out of this show because she doesn't want to get into a televised fight a la Kimbella and Chrissy than more power to her. This world is missing a little class. Mothers shouldn't be fighting battles for their sons. That's worst than a man's putting his hands on a woman.
But, in this cold cold world most people will only name call and finger point.
Maybe we really are a few reality shows from death matches. Then again I did love celebrity death match on MTV.
