The world has a new Miss Universe after 20-year-old Miss USA Olivia Culpo was crowned during last night's ceremony in Las Vegas.
Olivia was the first American woman to win the title since 1997 and the Rhode Island native is extremely proud to bring it back to the States.
"What an honor! This night was a dream come true. Thank you everyone for your support tonight!! USA finally did it!" she tweeted.
People Magazine reports:
Earlier this week Culpo said, before she won, that the Miss Universe competition was a whole different challenge than Miss USA. "For Miss USA, I felt more pressure to be lean," she said. "Here, they're bigger and taller. The look of Miss Universe is more voluptuous."
Now the work begins, as Olivia is up and at 'em, already tweeting:
"Rise and shine!! Makeup time with @Yukyan51 for a long day of media. Ready for day one of #MissUniverse life :)"
We're riding with you Olivia! Congrats!
