Welcome back! For many of you, it's been a long weekend. We hope you are all rested up and have a ton of leftovers from your holiday feast condensed into today's lunch. Even though your food may be the same, we have a few new and exciting things that you can do today that are free of charge if you happen to be in Cape Town, Africa. Check it out below!
Visit The Bronze Age Art Sculpture House & Foundry
The slightly sharp smell of molten metal is the first thing that hits you upon walking through the heavy doors of this contemporary foundry turned gallery housed in the former Albertyn's Stable. Inside, you can browse through a range of sculptures that span commercial wildlife statuettes and slightly more avant-garde works by renowned artists such as Claudette Schreuder and Norman Catherine. Head up to the mezzanine level and ogle the sweaty strongmen and women through the glass pane as they mold, cast and hammer away in the glow of the foundry. The next-door artists' residency has an inspiring sculpture garden that overlooks the Simon's Town yacht basin.
