Perfect Proposal! J.Hud Reveals How David Otunga Popped The Question (VIDEO)

The beautiful Jennifer Hudson opened up to NBC’s Dateline Sunday night and spoke about her weight loss, family tragedy and love – and specifically how her fiancé David Otunga popped the big question.

The couple – now engaged for three years – had been dating for less than a year before Otunga got down on one knee and proposed to Hudson on a Malibu beach on her 27th birthday.

Jennifer recalls the night:

"I remember him telling me, 'Put on your favorite dress.' He had birthday cards, and each card threw another hint and another hint and another hint. And I got to the last one, and it said when you're done reading this card, I want you to turn around and I have a birthday gift for you… I turned around and he was on his knees proposing [with a Neil Lane diamond]."

The Oscar & Grammy Award-winner and Harvard-lawyer-turned WWE wrestler have a beautiful two-year-old son together named David (after his father). Jennifer has confirmed to Dateline that a wedding date has been chosen, but remains tight lipped as to when.
