Since stepping onto the music scene in 2006, Rihanna‘s love life has always been the center of discussion regarding her career.

Now, the 24-year-old “What’s My Name” singer revealed just how defunct her love life has become.

“I have been conservative in my love life…it’s pretty much non-existent. If I come across someone who I find really cool, I’ll hang out. But the minute I find that we’re getting too close I just — I don’t let people in,” she said.

In the August issue of Harper’s Bazaar, which hits newsstands July 17, the singer-songwriter turned actress rehashes on her past hurt during her infamous relationship with Chris Brown.

“When I was in love, I fell so hard. I was really, really, really in love. The way it made me feel was priceless. And in a blink of an eye my whole life changed. Everything that I knew was different. I never thought I’d feel that pain in my life. I’m afraid of feeling that again.”

Although their relationship took a complete 360 – due to the infamous domestic abuse incident – and she now feels her love life is no longer existent, RiRi has figured out other ways to fill that void. She says she’s “rebellious through my music, through my fashion, tattoos, and my hair.”
