Sophie Monk is one of the most beautiful (and also one of the funniest) girls in the world! Having sold millions of records, starred in movies like Click and Date Movie, won major Australian music television contest (pre-American Idol), modeled in hundreds of campaigns, Sophie has taken American by storm since she arrived from “Down Under” aka Australia.
But controversy hit Sophie this week when the blogs reported that she was Ray J’s rebound chick when a photo emerged of her leaving Ray’s house. We gave the Aussie super-duper beauty a call on the cell phone and she gave us the real 411.
“When my mother called me from Australia and asked me if I was leaving Whitney Housteon’s ex-boyfriend’s house at 8:30 in the morning, I thought, wow I finally made it in America! But, in all seriousness…yes, I told my mama that I had been over at Ray-J’s house, but I was there for a modeling job for a new campaign for Prince Reigns, and the only picture taken of me was at 3:30 in the afternoon when I arrived. And by the time the job was over around midnight, I went home and went to bed. I’d never even met Ray J before the picture was taken of me walking into his house to shoot the campaign. So to hear this question from my own mother hurt me, as I have never been someone looking for controversy to make my career…maybe I’ve used my boobs to get some attention, but only for a few bikini shots.”
It seems that the blogs will make up anything for a good story. We’ve seen the picture and it is pretty damn clear that she is arriving at Ray J’s house in the broad daylight, as her stylist and make-up artist are in the car right next to her. Hmmmm….
“I have worked my ass off, even though my ass is quite small, I still have worked it off to get to where I have gotten to. I’ve always done the right thing, no drugs, no DUI’s, no flashing my lady gaga to the paparazzi…not even an arrest at the airport trying to get a loaded weapon onto an airplane! I come from a very poor, big family and I could have sold out so many times. Surely I’ve done sexy parts in movies, covers of Maxim, FHM and others, but…I want to be known for entertaining people, making people laugh and not as a slut (at least in real life). All of my money goes straight to buying my family what they need. It’s the only job I know, I’m very grateful for what I have, but society has changed. I want people to know they aren’t missing out…When the press makes things up like this, it does affect me and affects the people who I love, like my mama. As much as we don’t want to admit it, we do read the blogs and the gossip magazines. I guess this is the price of fame, but I wish that it wouldn’t always have to be so cheap…I have some skeletons in my closet, but Ray J is not one of them.”
