YM Nation's own Nichelle Nichols & Nicole Nichols sat down with the Harvey family for an exclusive interview with the comedic great and his daughters.
Check it out below!
He has the distinguished mien, the social consciousness, and the comedic timing which places him in a class of all-time greats, not to mention a New York Time Bestselling Author, Radio Personality, Host of Family Feud and BET‘s Celebration of Gospel, philanthropist, the original King of Comedy and his credentials don’t end there.
Steve Harvey hugely influential, he is the bridge from the old school to the new school of comedy. The terms “legend” and “great” are overused in entertainment, and there’s a different league of the true greats. Mr. Harvey stands among those few who can deem themselves “Great” he is a rare figure in the entertainment world that genuinely cares about the state of his people and the development of the next generation.
An interview that was originally centered on the dynamic between his daughters Brandi and Karli Harvey, his book “Think Like a Lady and Act like a Man” and how it transitioned into a movie turned into one of those unique moments where someone you greatly admire bestows knowledge and wisdom you never imagined.
He began to speak on the determination which is needed to succeed in entertainment or any field for that matter.
Steve: “Here’s the deal… This is a principal that young people have to understand about being successful, It is not what is in your realm of thinking to figure out “The How To” meaning How do I become a millionaire…How do I become a mogul…How do I become an entrepreneur, It’s your job to figure out the idea and pursue it. The principal I stand by “inch by inch everything’s a cinch” and by using this method of thinking you begin to accomplish small goals until you’ve reached your dream. Most people block their blessings with the “How To," wondering how it’s going to happen without letting God make the way for them. Your only job is to pursue the dream and let God do the rest.”
