In case you haven’t heard, Think Like A Man had an epic first weekend. Made on a budget of about $12 million, the romantic comedy raked in $33 million at the box office, even though it was projected to make no more than $20 mil. Think Like A Man hit #1 and with a mostly black cast, the film made history.

DETAILS: Breaking Down Think Like A Man‘s Opening Weekend Numbers

As we’ve been looking forward to the film for months, GlobalGrind wasn’t just excited about the big news, but we were also lucky enough to chat with some of the stars after they found out they made it to #1.

They shared some personal pics with us and let us in on their experience. Check out our exclusives below!

GlobalGrind: How did you find out that Think Like A Man was the #1 movie in America this weekend and who was the first person you called to tell?

Gabrielle Union: We were getting updates from the studio all weekend about how we were doing and we started off with a great number from the midnight shows Thursday and it just continued to go above and beyond all estimates. It started at #1 Friday and stayed there. The first person I called was Dwyane (Wade). He said, “I told ya so! I knew it was a hit during filming!”

Kevin Hart: I found out about TLAM being the #1 movie of the weekend from the producer of the film, Will Packer. I immediately called members of my company, HartBeat Productions, to share the good news on our success.

Meagan Good: My fiancé predicted it first on Saturday. Then I was running around town suprising movie-goers in select theaters with Michael Ealy and Necole Bitchie, when James Lopez (Senior Vice President of Production at Screen Gems) told us!

Everyone was excited, but more humbled and thankful. It blessed us so much, it was really more emotional. We were inside the projector room on top of the Howard Hughes Bridge Rave watching it play on four big screens, taking it in. I’m just in awe of what God can do!

La La Anthony: I found out we were #1 from our producer, Will Packer, and I was just overjoyed. I’m so honored to be a part of this amazing movie and cast. I called everyone I could think of to tell them because I was so damn proud. We made history!
