This summer, Man of Steel flew into theaters June 14th and broke records thanks to Henry Cavill’s good looks, but c’mon, Superheroes always do well in movies.

Then we have Will Smith at the top of the heap with his big budget flick After Earth, but that’s nothing out of the ordinary – when it comes to films, Will’s always fighting aliens. And up next is World War Z, which might have its chance at knocking down superheroes and taking over with zombies.

But with all the movies jostling to be this summer’s big blockbuster, we can’t forget about those classics that broke summertime records without the use of aliens, superheroes or Will Smith.

So we thought it was only necessary to bring you the list of the top 17 highest grossing summertime blockbusters of ALL TIME, without any of the aforementioned Big Willie, Superman or alien attacks.
