There Must Be Two Sides! Can Janet Jackson & Her Crew Win This War Of Words?

What do you think about when you think of Janet Jackson? 

I think of the legendary singer, actress and sister who's been a part of pop culture over the span of five decades. In the '70s she captivated us as Penny from Good Times. In the '80s she was Willis's girlfriend in Differ'nt Strokes, The Love Boat and Fame. In the '90s she hooked up with Pac in Poetic Justice. Then in the 2000s, Janet joined forces with Tyler Perry for more classics.

But after all of her amazing work, will Janet now face a Joe Paterno moment?

Janet caught a hailstorm of criticism when she joined Randy and Jermaine to question Michael Jackson's will. People immediately thought that Randy and Jermaine were after Michael Jackson's money, considering that it's all left to his children Paris, Prince and Blanket. While it sure did look like Janet and her Jackson siblings were trying get their paws on Michael's millions, they issued a statement today that said otherwise.

Janet's lawyer said they simply question the will because Michael was out of town when it was signed. 

While they might very well honestly believe that, the world will NEVER believe that they are NOT after Michael's loot. Key in the Jackson 5's version of Biggie's "Gimme The Loot" here.

Let's say they do prove the will isn't valid, that would mean the money in Michael's estate wouldn't all go to the kids, right? This would mean that the family could divvy up the money. But according to the press release, they don't want to do that. So why even question the will? Stress? Katherine seemed pretty fine before she spent 10 days away from the kids without phone or email or any clue as to what was going on in the world.

At the end of the day, I get it; Janet is trying to salvage her image so the 2010s are not defined by any kind of nasty gold digging label. But regardless, it's been 3 years since Michael's death and to start fighting now is suspicious. 

If Janet realizes she can't win, no matter how many press releases or TMZ retractions she gets, then one thing is clear: Paris, Prince and all of her other Jackson family are on the Dream Team, while Janet and her team are Angola.

Sure, there are two sides to a story; sure, Janet could really just want what's right and true, but she's in a situation she surely cannot win.
