Safe House is now in theaters, but we were looking forward to this film for months.
Starring the incomparable Denzel Washington as Tobin Frost and heartthrob Ryan Reynolds as Matt Weston, this action-thriller is what’s been missing in theaters.
Denzel plays a dangerous renegade from the CIA, who comes back onto the grid after a decade on the run.
When the South African safe house he’s remanded to is attacked by mercenaries, a rookie operative, played by Ryan, escapes with him. Now, the unlikely allies must stay alive long enough to uncover who wants them dead.
With Denzel and Ryan starring alongside one another in an action thriller, audiences will undoubtedly be kept entertained from beginning to end, but the relationship between these two characters is what’s going to make this movie the addiction of the season.
As unlikely allies, like the infamous relationship between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, it’s the love-hate dynamic between two powerhouse personalities that will keep us not only wanting more, but dying to know the final outcome.
When the clean-cut Matt Weston who has been frustrated by his inactive post in Cape Town, who is aspiring to be a full-fledged agent, comes across the loose cannon and most dangerous man he’s ever met, played by Denzel, who will be the first and only occupant Ryan had, proves to be the most dangerous man he’s ever met, Weston readies for duty.
These men both need each other, but at the same time are ready to kill one another. It’s a dynamic that makes for an incredible film.
