On February 11th, the skies opened up to accept Whitney Houston, and today her body was laid to rest eternally in peace.

Following an emotional funeral service at her childhood church in Newark yesterday, the family held a private and very intimate burial at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ.

Houston was laid to rest next to her father, John Russell Houston, who passed away in 2003.

Fans and media were barricaded from entering the cemetery, but still bared the winter weather to bid their final farewell to the pop icon with posters, candles and roses.

There is no word on who attended the burial, but it is said to have been for "family only."

Whitney is now freed from all suffering and will leave a legacy behind that will keep her memory alive for decades to come.
